Went out to shut up chickens late yesterday evening and found 2 new hens not mine. They seemed pretty hungry and fell in line with all the other girls and went to roost. A first for me and since I do not really have any close neighbors they have to have come out of the woods.

Snowed all day yesterday. It got up to 33 degrees, unusual for December. The snow was wet and heavy. Got the area between the house, barn shop and coop cleared with the tractor. I was soaked from head to toe and chilled to the bone. Spent the rest of the day sitting by the wood stove. The wife made me a cup of herbal tea. It seemed to help. I think I can clear the road with the snow blower today. The drifts on the road are up to 4 feet deep in places. Last night the wife got the track vehicle stuck when she drove off the "road".

We may have a little snow on the 23rd. That is close to a white Christmas for us.
