I saw today the cdc recommended to have enough supplies to last 2 weeks without leaving your home if it hits hard near your area. I don’t think two weeks is near enough time to let this thing burn itself out of an area. 2 months is more realistic.

Your right Brent, but you have to see things from there perspective. 2 weeks is enough time for FEMA to setup shop and be the only ones you rely on for survival. Then they have complete control of you and can have your compliance to all there demands.

It's a start anyhow. Hypothetically if everyone ran out and bought 2 weeks worth, it would not be as big a run on supplies as if everyone ran out and bought 2 months worth.

I trusted my mother and father to take care of me up until about I turned 16. Since then I’ve believed in self reliance.

lets get this into perspective shall we, there are only 19 cases in Britain and they are ALL connected to either China, Tenerife or Italy.
I think the flooding in the UK is more of a problem than corona virus, another named storm coming in this weekend.
Don’t feel left out Paul, it’s coming there too.

This whole crona BS has turned political. How many die each year from the common flu or cold in the U.S.? And how many have died from the corona virus in the U.S.? Zero. I don't give 2 shits about China.

its not that east dude, Be it EU, UK or US or even Canada, Huge numbers of companioes rely on componants and materials made in China to build their goods with. If the componants dont arrive than the American factories have to close as well.

Its why guys like you and I tend to try and buy American made goods (you) and British made goods ( me) Sadly the choice of products not including Asiatic componants is not as good as it should be.

BillMasen is correct. They is why it is hitting the Stock Market so hard. Yep, the press keeps simply blaming the Stock Market decline on the "Corona Virus" but the real issue is that the virus has shut down big parts of China resulting in the shutting down or slowing down of manufacturing. I lot of the products produced in those factories are components used at plants in other countries and once the parts stop, the manufacturing of the whole product stops, whether it is being built in the US or the UK or wherever. If is this loss of productivity (and resulting loss of shipping/profit) that is hurting the stock market. While I am somewhat like Artic in I don't care what happens in China I do care what happens in the supply chain, where China is a big part.

MY OPINON ONLY, I think once the Corona Virus passes and manufacturing gets back to normal, we will see the Stock Market start to gain again. But until then, HOW LOW WILL IT GO?

Actually in manufacturing, the opposite is happening. I've been in contact with a number of small companies in China. Every one is at least partially open. China has decided to accept the virus & the deaths & just get back to business.

There is worry that as China slowly goes back to work the virus will start to spread again. Only time will tell but it sounds logical to me.

The virus can remain viable on surfaces for what? Nine days I think they are saying. Or was that the SARS virus?

As long as things get shipped on a slow boat from China, we should be safe from viral contamination here on Chinese parts and goods. Maybe there should be a nine day quarantine period on everything coming from China. It doesn't shut down manufacturing completely.

I order stuff from a Chinese factory for our business and it ships with DSL in about three to 4 days. I’m sure we aren’t the only company that gets stuff that quickly. Kind of scary.
On another note, I’m just glad these viruses need a host to survive and do have a short lifespan without one. I know some can ‘hibernate’ for years and survive until the conditions are right again.

No joke. 38% of those surveyed said they would not drink Corona beer under any circumstance.

They were serious. People are so stupid.

Also, 75% of Democrats said they are okay with Socialism.

Don't they teach history anymore? Rhetorical question.
