The Traitor got off.......are things really that bad ? makes me wonder if serving was worth anything.....

Dishonorable Discharge is hardly "getting off." It is the military equivalent of a felony conviction in civilian court, and is treated as such.

However, Trump agrees with you: "The decision on Sergeant Bergdahl is a complete and total disgrace to our Country and to our Military."

He still has to live with his guilt and those military brothers lives that were lost looking for his sorry butt. And when he said that he was treated better by ISIS after his return home made my blood boil. . . can understand why the military was standoffish to him. What did he expect?? Innocent lives were lost and I don't buy the oh I got lost and couldn't find my way back.

Dishonorable discharge is nothing......slap on the wrist.......Trump is right, it's a disgrace....

Maybe, but it's a slap he will feel the rest of his life.

The type of military discharge you receive follows you into civilian life, potentially limiting your employment options and economic standing. Issued only after a conviction at a General Court-Martial, this sentence is handed down after a conviction for both civil and military offenses. Though it’s a military disciplinary action, it’s comparable to having a conviction on your record.

Finding Work
Even in the civilian sector, your dishonorable discharge could count as a strike against you, with an increasing number of employers running routine background checks on applicants. As with a criminal conviction, there’s little you can do to hide the information. Employers might view a dishonorable discharge the same way they would a criminal record, making them hesitant to trust you as a potential employee. Employment prospects are even more limited if you’re applying for federal employment. You’re also not eligible for vocational rehabilitation to help you re-enter the civilian workforce.

Economic Impact
A dishonorable discharge bars you from receiving any kind of government assistance, even if you qualify based on need. For example, if you’re having trouble finding work, you can’t apply for aid to help sustain you until you find employment. In addition, you likely won’t be able to secure bank loans, making it difficult to buy a home. You also won’t qualify for financial aid such as government grants and loans, meaning you’ll have to pay for your entire tuition if you want to attend college. The consequences can affect your family as well, preventing children and widowed spouses from receiving your pension.

Loss of Status and Rights
If you leave under a dishonorable discharge, you essentially lose your standing as a military veteran. This means you won’t receive burial expenses, and you’ll lose the privilege of being buried in a national cemetery and with military honors such as flags. You also won't be able to wear your uniform or any medals and bars you’ve earned in recognition of distinguished service. No matter how accomplished or dedicated you were, this is erased as a result of the conduct that led to the discharge. In many cases, you also lose the right to vote and to possess firearms.

Loss of Health Care
Current and former soldiers typically receive lifelong health care through Veterans Affairs, a benefit you’ll forfeit as a result of a dishonorable discharge. If you can’t afford health insurance, you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket for all of your medical-related expenses. You also cannot receive wartime disability, even if you've suffered an injury during your time in the service. For example, if you developed PTSD as a result of your military service, you can’t receive treatment through the VA.

Traitor Bowe will be paid well on the Liberal TV show circuit.....he will be hailed as a Hero......he will have money to pay for healthcare.....he probably never voted and could care less about voting...his discharge is a Joke.....he should be dead already....

If a Democrat is the next POTUS his discharge could be changed/upgraded or he could be pardoned.....it could easily happen....

A Presidential pardon cannot change the status of a Military Discharge, as far as sentencing the President must submit a request to the Secretary of Defense who then forwards the request to (in this case) the Secretary of the Army who then sends it to the department that handled the case, it would be up to the department to approve the request or not not the President ;)

a democrat potus and his military staff could easily upgrade his discharge......

Afraid not, the discharge review boards (DRB) for the services are not permitted to review DD/GCM outcomes nor can the potus appointed members change or upgrade the DD/GCM.

I found this.

"The Discharge Review and Correction Boards"
The Discharge Review Boards consist of five officers, of the rank 0-4 or higher. These Boards have jurisdiction over discharges issued within fifteen years of the date of application. The Review Boards cannot review a Bad Conduct or Dishonorable Discharge issued as part of the sentence of a General Court-Martial, but they can review all others including Bad Conduct Discharges issued as part of the sentence of a Special-Court Martial"

someone seems to forget all the Illegal things done during the last Democratic POTUS tenure.......regardless of what the Law said.....

and maybe Obama was smart enough not to do more ? one thing is for sure, after 8 years of obama and the attacks against Trump IF a democrat gets the next election I would not be certain of anything the democrats would not do.....they already covered for an AG who should have been fired and put in jail, they covered the Traitor Hillary.....changing/rewriting or just plain law breaking to fix bowe's discharge and make him a misunderstood hero is not impossible.....the democrats have proven that....

He still has to live with himself every day he looks in the mirror.

Which is more than those 6 who died trying to get him back, have....
