I'm not waiting in my car. I'm sitting in my home in the city at the moment. But when I told my husband over lunch "If we get stuck in this city, and all hell breaks out and we are unable to get to the cabin, I may never be able to forgive you. I can't see that waiting a day, or 2 more, will change the inevitability of the impending chaos for America." He silently, after lunch, began loading the cars and is doing so as I am typing this. We're leaving for our BOL cabin as soon as the cars are loaded. Sigh of relief here.

Our boxes are packed and ready to load into our BO vehicles. But my husband, the perpetual optimist, doesn't want to go to our BOL "until something actually happens", he said this morning. Man, I've been fighting this doubting Tom personality for months on this issue. He's in denial this is actually going down. What part of the THEY DON'T CARE WHAT THE BALLOT RESULTS ARE does he not understand? I'm so afraid this "wait and see" approach may end up biting us in the butt. If the roadway to our BOL gets blocked with the chaos that I feel certain is impending, we could get stuck here in the city (my worst fear in all this). The lion's share of our preps are down at our cabin, NOT HERE. We're sitting along an interstate between two major metropolitan areas that may become a hub of activist movement in Texas, so road blockages are a distinct possibility IMHO. Can you hear the low, quiet Grrrrrrr?

If the National Guard have been deployed where you are, you need to leave now...in my humble opinion.

No national guard here yet. That's why he thinks we can at least wait until tomorrow to go. But the Guard HAS been called up for Austin (1 hour south of me) and Dallas (2 hrs. north of me), along with 3 other cities, in anticipation of post election unrest. Rooftop sniper-type "practice" activity was seen/captured on video in the last Austin chaos, so I think it will get much worse this time around in Austin. I'm sure the authorities there think so, too. My husband is now willing to leave for the cabin early tomorrow, but would much prefer to wait until somehting in our immediate area justifies it. What can I say? He's been a procrastinator all his life. I'm the military brat that is always ready 3 days early for every event in our lives. LOL

My husband is like that with some instances. It is like he doesn’t want to accept something that has not happened here in the US before. But just because we haven’t seen a total breakdown in our country since the Civil War doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

I hope they at least have ammo in their weapons. Anyone else remember when the US Marines guarding the Marine barracks in Lebanon were forbidden to have a loaded magazine in their M-16s?🤪

I am definitely the prepper in the family. My husband has come around to buying what I say we need. Before he wasn't like that. I have money squirrel ed away that he doesn't know about and so does mom. My just in case money.

look into back roads.in which there's probably a dozen back routes y'all can choose from.

Well I'm just hoping with both fingers crossed that I am prepped enough. Today I see what looks like the US turning socialist on the same day the UK government orders us into another full month hard lockdown causing critical damge to our society and economy and a huge attack on freedom in the UK.
