When a woman loves her man, she will do and help support as much as she can.
And visa versa!! A two way street!

My biggest fear for her is continuity of medical care. I can't prepare for everything, but will keep trying to cover as many bases as I can.
Growing pot post shtf would be pretty easy. I still have plenty of friends that I could get some seeds from. I don't know how opiates are produced, but it would probably be worth reading about. I'd also like to learn about how aspirin is made, as its one of the best all around things you can have. It's good for fever and pain. I need to read up on how long aspirin will store. Stocking up on things is good, but learning to produce them is invaluable. I just got 3 packs of Benadryl today. They help with some of the wife's nausea, and she goes thru more than she should. There's a group here that has classes on herbs, guess I need to go to one oneday.Yep, that's a tricky one for me too. Especially in regards to medications. While there are some herbal and grown possibilities, producing them in such forms pre-SHTF is illegal. Example, growing poppies is legal, but making them into opiates is not, of course. If the SHTF, I'm going to have to raid some pharmacies, no doubt about it. Simple as that.
Pet medicines that also work for humans is another outlet, as well as Canadian pharmacies, etc.

I smoked enough as a teenager for ten people, after all I was a rebellious preachers kid. I really think it's a waste of time now, recreationally, but I do see the medical benefits. I know for a fact that it would be beneficial for my wife. I think it's insane that it's illegal. I don't think it has anything to do with morals, but profits for big pharmacy. Here in Ga. (Which I think invented the Bible Belt) they just passed medical marijuana. I was really suprised, but there are a ton of restricitions and it will be a long time before my wife can benefit from it. It has to be refined and sold thru big pharm companies, and right now there are no sources for it. All the pain meds she is on require that she has a monthly pee test, looking specifically for pot. What a crock! With a system this stupid I sometimes almost want it to break down.Actually one of the biggest uses of pot, medicinally. It's a great anti-nausea medicine with no side effects (other than the high of course), but even a minute amount works. My wife has multiple conditions that qualify for it, just that our state hasn't legalized it yet. Mostly, because she takes so many meds, nausea is a side effect of them, and that can be alleviated with pot, allowing her to eat food. Same reason many cancer patients take it. Other anti-nausea meds are pretty harsh and have harsh side effects (or can just be very expensive).
Opium is made from poppies, I just started researching this one, but yeah, I want to know how to make meds post SHTF, because even stocked ones lose potency over time. Some meds even become toxic over time, so good to know (so I've heard). Again, just kind of at the beginning of this particular part of preps.
Recently, so many changes to laws, etc.
My wife is a chronic pain patient. Has been for years and years. Same doc, same pharmacies for years, etc. Yet, I feel like we're treated as criminals every time we try and fill a prescription. She's prescribed Oxycontin for night-time pain relief. Last time we filled it, it literally took us a MONTH to get it filled. Individual locations only get so much allocated, etc. Really ridiculous. When she saw the doc, they wondered why she wasn't taking it. We're like, "We can't get the prescription filled anywhere!" (and showed that we still had the script!). One day, I literally tried 6 different pharmacies, and none could fill it even with a partial fill. (I was off work that day, so able to drive around, as I took the day off to take her to doc appointments).

I hope they start it up here before long. I'm lucky enough to have insurance, but wonder if they will cover it for my wife. I'm also curious how expensive it will be after they refine it and make a profit.Yep. Same here. Which is why even though it isn't hard to get...she can't use it even though it would help her.
These days though, big tobacco and big pharma have kind of back-door agreed to now profit from it. Just taking time. You can bet though, they've got production and distribution channels well ready to go in any state that legalizes it.
My wife still thinks I'm crazy, however she does appreciate the pantry I've stocked up, and rarely not finding things she needs. Hell, sometimes I think I'm crazy too, just not for the prepping though .I was the first perpper in my home, my husband didn't need too much convincing. I worked from the fact he like zombie movies and am slowly pushing him to more likely scenarios. Today he admitted a few gallons of water would be nice to have around. So, I plan to go out and spend $20 or so at Walmart in gallon water and rotate it as I go. Not at the same Walmart of course, I have 2 on the main street here. He still has this idea that we will be bugging out to nowhere in an intense long term apocalyptic scenario, which I deem unlikely (I'm thinking an EMP or less). So his idea is to only keep what we can carry as if we will bug-out the same day. We're still working on the plan, what can I say, but every couple is different.
