My guess is most of the hospital workers aren’t physicians or nurses.
I’ve been looking for exact numbers but I’ve seen it’s mostly techs, assistants.
Does anyone have any data on this?
Condolences for your friend.
I have a neighbor that is a long time nurse, at a large hospital system, who just quit. She said there are about 20% like her, just in their system. I just read this local news saying 20% of the nurses in Oregon are unvaccinated and do not want to be. I would guess that 20% of nurses for the entire state is in the thousands; probably over ten. Then there are specialists..

Espino is one of the employees whose religious exemption was rejected. She’s been a registered nurse for decades and is now facing a possible firing.
Coleman Nagy’s religious exemption was also denied. He works as a respiratory therapist at Legacy Emanuel. He’s worked in health care for decades.
The Oregon Nurses Association (ONA) is also calling out Legacy Health, saying the “blanket rejections” are “bad policy” that further impact that staffing shortages at hospitals and will “ultimately impact quality of patient care.”
"Across the state, Oregon’s registered nurses have a high rate of vaccination (over 80%)."
83,000 hospital workers is a huge number. Even if NONE of them were doctors or nurses, how will the hospitals run without support staff? The doctors and nurses going to make appointments, clean the halls, bathrooms, and ER? They going to run the supply rooms and restock the place? Keep the power going, do regular maintenance? Security? I think it is kind of closed minded to discount a hospital worker's "status". Snooty too.
