I was ask out a week or so ago to help give some medical/trauma instructions to a group of like minded folks.
This needs to hit home!
As it was put by Warriorhealer22 , " Anything done in the field will not fix the problem! Surgery will!" I explained that a torso hit that penetrates they whether they are bleeding out, tension/hemo pneumothorax, die from sepsis, and or shock! In a grid down scenario a penetrating wound has a high % of morbidity. Not to mention the amount of VERY VERY PRECIOUS MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND DRUGS. A extremity hit is more survivable, then what if it hits a bone. Unless you have a surgeon or someone with a awesome knowledge of A&P the body systems and a good working of surgery, well I hope you get it. It is better to be unseen, an avoid contact if at all possible.
Good luck, be safe, and God bless!
