The only certainty in life is that things will change. We all tend to get complacent with our everyday life, and just expect everything to be alright. Katrina is a perfect example of how quickly our society with all its rules can break down. That was just one city/area that was affected, and look how long it took the govt to even start reacting. Just think how bad it would get with a national or even regional disaster.I typically point to what happened during Hurricane Katrina. It's a perfect example of how the right circumstances can easily revert people to anarchy, looting, etc, and the absence of law. It's easy to forget, as here, we haven't seen a major storm in years (which is odd enough), but that certainly could be our cities as well.
