Learned such things in the military, learned more over time, do these things for a while too. Door jamb is the easiest stopper for unwanted entry at night. Check if trees are near the window to stop a jump if needed in a fire. How far is the next balcony also or can I climb down from balcony to balcony. Do the windows open at all? What do I have to break them if not? Do I have circuit breakers in the room or in the hall? Might want to cut the electricity off to have the advantage of darkness. How many steps are between floors if I need to get down the stairway. Count the doors to the stairs and count the number of steps on each landing. How far is the kitchen from my room, most fires start there or in cellars. Does the stairway have a smoke ventilation? Manual or automatic? Can I get to the roof or are the doors locked? Still more to learn, but we are just practicing, still. GP
