@bigpaul

No worries, in this way the UK isn't alone... LOL
I see so many people who think it would nothing more happen than an 10 minute power outage or sold out toilet paper until monday morning...
Guess we will find out what happens next year. If it comes to an crash we're almost prepared.
I am very upset that my fellow countrymen and women are so stupid that they think nothing bad will happen but then they panic buy when they see empty shelves, pathetic really.

Texas, buddy, that damn U-Haul solution is flooding our state with west coast rejects! 😵

I am for them staying there and reshaping their own state. Or as my Cardiologist suggested "Let them move here but they cant vote for 10 years" LOL... my doc is hard core!

David, your doc is quoting me! I've said that for 10 years, not only can they not vote in local elections, but they have a tax-scale that changes 10% per year from their old tax rate to the TX tax rate so they appreciate the difference! (and pay for their way)

I heard Jack Spirko give a good description, and eventually came to agree with him. An individual leaving a communist state is OK, they're making the conscious choice to get away from socialism. The problem is when a company makes the move, and drags their socialist employees to TX.

For the others, remember that the time to decide to leave the side of the mountain is before, NOT 'when' lava is flowing in your direction.

@LexiRae , I used to have to drive down to S.A. every 3 weeks or so to look in on and monitor my mother's health and care at Freedom House memory care facility at Air Force Village. She had Alzheimers. I deeply miss my mother, who passed away in 2015, but man, I'm sure glad that responsibility is off my shoulders. Was exhausted just from all that driving for 10 years after my Dad died in 2005, but S.A. has always had more than its fair share of crime for Texas in general. I just recently mentioned to my husband I'm sure glad I'm not driving down there (often by myself) all the time anymore, with all this negative economic impact going on around the nation.
I’m sorry to hear about your mother but I understand how stressful it is. I moved my mom up here and she’s only one street away. I can jump the fences to get to her faster, and I have binoculars so I can make sure she hasn’t fallen in her yard. I’m a bit of a worrier, as you all may know. Luckily she doesn’t question my obsessions. She also knows that I’m planning to move us out of this city. I used to love SA as a child when we visited but I had no idea about the crime and gangs here.

The Wife and I were planning on leaving the state going to a state that's more inline with our ideology but, I got hit with a triple whammy. I had a fall over a rock cliff that busted me up pretty bad in 2019, then I had two stroke then the smoke from the forest fires this summer, it took it's toll forcing me and the Wife into our second home off the mountain. Our plans which were already heavily invested in came crashing down in slow motion, I'm 67 and my body can't take much more punishment thus it looks like we are going to stay here in Washington and we are going to make the best of it in 2021 and beyond.

We can't control what life throws at us but we sure as hell can make it better. As the saying goes "every day is a new beginning"

I believe that Amazon setting up shop in Arlington VA is what flipped VA from red to blue. My daughter lives two miles from the Amazon HQ there. Her neighborhood is very conservative, but Amazon employees are buying up houses all around her.

What I hope...
