no wonder I smell like a pharmacy these days...that hand sanitizer comes very handy...soon it will be cold enough to use gloves

The authorities are all concentrating on person to person contact. It seems they overlooked the fact that Ebola is a Zoonotic disease. It [Ebola] can simply take another [animal] host and survive while they quarantine everybody. The only way to stop Ebola is to keep it out of the USA or North America altogether for that matter.

The person in DC does not have Ebola according to the latest test results.

it exactly doesn't convince what they're doing..like I trust my own system here aswell..yeah right..
when reading about this,it really makes a point why we prep

so,from this point on;the Nordic Countries have their 1st ebola patient and that's in Norway,a nurse who's been helping down there has got it...

I read today that the spanish nurse was baffeled as to why she caught it. She said she followed every precaution exactly. She likely infected a second person now, but they are waiting on testing.

She thinks that she may have touched her face while taking off the protective gloves. She had volunteered to take care of the two priest that passed away and she had reported her symptoms three times before she was put in isolation. . . what is up with these hospitals?

I see we(UK) are going to send 750 troops to Sierra Leone to "build hospitals for the Ebola patients"....that's a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted isn't it? I hope they'll be decontaminated before they return home.

Sky news UK is reporting that one specialist company alone in Kingston upon Hull is selling 50,000 level four personal protective suits A MONTH to NGOs, agencies, groups, charities and others. 50,000 A MONTH, they also report a shortage of suitable protective clothing available to health care professionals.

That tells me much more than all the official claptrap being spouted by official channels, time to dust off the NBC / Mopp gear methinks.

EDIT, BREAKING NEWS, Sky News 10.20AM today Sky news reports that in the last hour the orders for 50,000 level four protection suits has been DOUBLED to 100,000 suits A MONTH !!!. Now that is intel you can give serious consideration to.

If you see even a couple dozen cases in any of the industrialized nations they won't be able to make enough gloves, masks of suits.

personally I think we (the UK) should bring back Quarantine-you know like we used to do for dogs coming into the country against rabies, this thing has got a 21 day incubation period so someone showing up at the airport wont necessarily be showing symptoms. maybe a month long stay in a quarantine set up somewhere away from the general public should about do the trick.

They have even destroyed the Spanish nurses pet dog !!!

Sad.

Wouldn't be needed if they would just approve the 15 min test and then test everyone trying to leave affected countries. PRIOR to them getting on the plane! Temp tests don't work, the guy in Dallas proved that. Don't inconvenience passengers if it isn't going to actually DO anything. The 15 min tests on the other hand, a sure fire way to stop it in it's tracks.

have you considered this possibility ; take one nurse/aid-worker suffering from depression and the person want to commit a "slow suicide" with the help of this dicease and want to spread it to as many as possible with the pretext of taking as many with me as possible, 'cause the world is such a miserable place to live???
my colleague at work made this suggestion, 'cause it seems quite odd that some one who's supposed to know what to do and have all the gear get's it..ok mistakes happen but...
