when the shtf raid farms they all have guns and i know from personal knowledge not all are locked away. pistols used for killing animals are legel not v good range but close up can cause serious damage
The main problem with registering a gun (depending on the disaster i.e. break down of rule of law) those preppers with guns are going to be sitting on a list of high priority targets (I would assume as thats who i would go after if i was in there shoes).
The laws in the Uk make it pretty much impossible to carry any useful knife (yet carry a 12 inch screwdriver is perfectly legal). Then there is the even more broad stretching "offensive" weapons laws which essentially mean that if any item is deemed by the police as offensive (whether it be a walking stick, essentially anything) it can land you in trouble... so this makes defence EDC pretty much impossible.
