Eight attacks against JFO positions yesterday: no losses among Ukrainian soldiers
On February 17, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine eight times.
"The enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars banned under the Minsk agreements, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns to fire on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.
In the zone of action of tactical force Skhid, the Russian-led forces used mounted antitank grenade launcher and heavy machine gun to shell Ukrainian positions near Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol) and Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, hand-held antitank grenade launcher and heavy machine gun – outside Pavlopil (25km north-west of Mariupol); automatic mounted grenade launchers – in the area of Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); mounted antitank grenade launcher - near Berezove (31km south-west of Donetsk).
In the zone of action of tactical force Pivnich, the enemy fired 82mm and 120mm mortars and automatic mounted grenade launcher on Ukrainian positions near Orikhove (57km north-west of Luhansk).
No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported on February 17.
Today, the Russian-occupation troops have not opened fire yet.

Russian-backed forces attack Ukrainian positions near Zolote, losses reported
Russian-backed forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian Joint Forces units near the villages of Novotoshkivske, Orikhove, Krymske and Khutir Vilnyi in the Luhansk region early on Tuesday, February 18, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported on Facebook.
"The invaders are firing on our defenders from weapons proscribed by the Minsk agreements. The enemy is using 120mm mortars. The enemy is also firing from grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns," the report reads.
Supported by massive fire, Russian invaders launched an offensive operation and attempted to advance through the contact line.
At the moment, the fighting is ongoing. Ukrainian defenders have suffered losses amid enemy shelling.
The Ukrainian Joint Forces have delivered an adequate response and are now trying to suppress enemy fire. Enemy losses are being specified.
Journalist Yurii Butusov wrote on Facebook that such large-scale military operations had not been recorded in Donbas since 2018.
"Today, at 05:00, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian strongholds near Zolote. Now, as of 08:00, heavy fighting is ongoing with the use of all weapons, including 152mm artillery, 120mm mortars. The enemy is attacking the combat units of the 72nd and 93rd mechanized brigades near the disengagement area of Zolote-Orikhove-Novotoshkivske. There was a close fight with a Russian assault group at a strongpoint. Our artillery fired back, reserves are being brought up," he wrote.

One Ukrainian killed, three injured, two shell-shocked following enemy attack in Luhansk region - Gen. Staff
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak has said that one Ukrainian serviceman was killed, three were injured and another two were shell-shocked as a result of the enemy attack on the positions of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Donbas on Tuesday morning.
"As a result of the collision, unfortunately, one serviceman killed, three injured and two shell-shocked. Wounded and shell-shocked now are at the treatment establishments, they are provided with the medical aid," Khomchak said at a briefing following the meeting in Kyiv on Tuesday.
General Staff Chief said that the Russia-led armed groups since 1000 asked for 'silence', now the Joint Center for Coordination and Control is working on the site for the Ukrainian party to take the body of its serviceman, and the armed groups do the same.
"The casualties of the enemy are confirmed: four persons killed, six – injured. Now the situation is stable, the shooting has stopped. The situation is under control and all units are conducting their activities according to decisions taken earlier," Khomchak said.
