I found this website page called Guide To Choosing Your First Radio. I also found this on Yahoo Answers.hello, I'm new.
could someone try to help me with what kind/type of reasonably priced yet still effective radio and antenna?
thank you for your help!!

I didn't realize I had picked the same site as you. lolhahaha thats the same site i posted, again, great minds think alike lol
i agree. it is hard getting started in something like ham radio as there is so much misinformation and opinion. I also like ARRL's website at www.arrl.org. A lot of good information for people just starting in Ham Radio.all good, from what i read it was a good site lol
I am studying for the test now. but i'm not the best student.Boy, I know absolutely nothing about HAM radio. I better get to learning, I guess.
same here.HA, im with ya there bro, i know only the little bit ive read! my extent goes as far as cb radios and walkie talkies.
I would like to get another CB in the near future as I have a feeling they will be almost as valuable has ham radios. However they will be scarce. FRS radios will have some practical applications in my opinion.ya truck driving is where my experience comes in with cb's, being a hoodlem back in the day is where i learned about walkie talkies a little
I do like cobras too, but i lean more towards galaxy radios. All the semi's do have them, but they aren't as common as they were back in the early 90'si like cobras personally, cheap but they take a beaten, i dont know about scarce, parts of me says they wont be cuz all the trucks have them, but how many people that raid them will get one, not sure
It is the cell phones that killed the cb market.ya, 90s were great when it came to cb's seemed like everyone was on one
