One of my sons leaves soon to work about 1,000 miles away for a 28 day hitch on the river boats . As I have done many times before discussed the plan if things go sideways to the point motorized transportation is not an option of returning to our survival grounds , to walk back . I figure it will take about a month for him to walk the 1000 miles . Most people , I doubt would walk very for but would try to survive at whatever location they found themselves . I base this theory on what I witnessed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina .

He definitely needs to take whatever he needs to walk or ride a bicycle back home! Freeze dried packs of food is the lightest, a Lifestraw or similar, socks and a weapon with sufficient ammo. Every time I’ve left home in recent years, I have been 100% prepared…map and all, to walk home. Been walking miles a day for a few years now to stay in shape.

I thought we were already at that level . And we're focused on building them smaller for precision strikes .

I don't know whether to be saddened or amused at the frightened / turned to anger responses from people . Either someone prepared for SHTF or they didn't . Now that it's happening on multiple fronts staggering inflation , banks going belly up , poverty , homelessness , and multiple wars about to swallow the other portions of the planet ., some " likely most " just walk about pretending it ain't going to swallow them up . No it's going to be the other guy .
