Me and the Wife are on the upper end of the Elk river fishing today . View attachment 11026
For the past 2 Saturdays (since he doesn't work Saturdays lately) my husband has been traveling around the state checking out state parks, rec areas, etc. He has some pretty cool photos.

I saw that. What kind of genius decided to force everyone to crowd together at one door? It makes social distancing impossible! It certainly does absolutely nothing to keep people safe!
I see a lot of these measures to promote social distancing that are not well thought out. like when they have two lines right next to each other with X's six feet apart in line . .. but the lines are only 2 feet apart so you are literally standing in arms-length of someone.
Took mom to one of her doctors today and not one person on the staff was wearing a mask. They are mandated in our county too.

This is a specialist and doesn't treat illnesses, but it's unusual for medical staff to be maskless.
When I went to the doctor not too long ago the medical staff kept taking off their masks, even when talking with a patient. One place where a lot of elderly people have been getting it in our town is at the dialysis clinic. Apparently they weren't practicing proper precautions. there.

One of our elderly home care clients passed away due to the virus. He had been fairly healthy (for a man in his 80s with early stage dementia) but within 2 weeks of COVID diagnosis he has passed. It's so sad.

So Miss Piggy went to the market this morning. Sure was good filling out what I wanted on the menu. On our way home hunny made a stop at Bucee's so we could have lunch. On our way back the guys who were scheduled to come hook up the electricity to the big barn showed up. Hunny told them go on in and we would be there shortly. Hunny still needs to run a few more wires but it sure will be nice to get juice out in the barn. That can be easily run into my milk parlor.

My neighborhood is pretty quiet these days. We continue to curbside pickup our groceries for the most part. My husband did go to the Dollar Store to get Gatorades that were on sale for the boat cooler. He said the shelves were bare. Not sure what is going on with that. Maybe back to school who knows. Lumber prices are out of sight so we postponed a couple of projects.
Kids are back in school see the school buses go by daily. Most people around here are busy with gardens and cattle. Covid cases for the state are up to 140,000. We are up to 140 in our tiny little county. We continue to stay pretty well to our property with lots of rain there is always lots to do mowing and taking care of things. Trips off property are rare except to pick up groceries and animal feed. We continue to social distance as much as possible and disinfect the house and wash hands often. So far so good. Stay safe DD

I have four people with COVID-19 within 1/2 mile of me, one a good friend of mine has been in the hospital for 23 days. Of those 23days he he’s been on a ventilator 18 days , they finally woke him yesterday and took hid tube out, he is breathing on his own but is very weak. I hope everything go well for him as he has a wife , twin girls and a 5 year old son. COVID-19 is not for the weak for sure, he was a big burly dude but it has taken a tole. Look as if he has lost around 60# as of now.

Nope my plan is to just hunker down here as much as possible and ride this thing out. Stay out of everyone's way. I'm old and people can riot , clean out the grocers, fight over toilet paper, tear down statues not a thing I can do about any of it other than vote. So I make a curb pick up about twice a month to keep my provisions stocked to the gills and we will just lie low. We are not exactly social butterflies anyway. Skype with the grandkids, go fishing, take care of our garden, keep our place up and wear a mask and stay away from people. Concentrate on staying healthy. Good food, exercise, plenty sleep and vitamins. Sounds like a plan to me

I'm glad your friend was able to be taken off the ventilator successfully. From what I have heard and read, once on is almost like a death sentence. That is encouraging to hear about a good story. Thank You!

Prayers to your friend AC. The weight loss is staggering. Doesn’t sound like he is old either. 😥

Well my buddy Shane has been able to sit up in the bed for about three hours a day for the last couple day and is starting to regain his strength in his right arm, left not so much as of yet but it’s going to be a long recovery for him as well as the family. All in all every thing is looking good for him.

That is an improvement. I’ve got to say though, wow that poor man has been through h3ll. And his family too.

Yes he has, it’s three days he has been awake and is finally starting to eat solid food and regaining strength and movement. I don’t wish this crap on anyone but if people could only see what it did to him they wouldn’t think twice about wearing a mask in public. I can’t even begin to guess what the medical bills will be.

I am so glad to be able to read how Shane has improved over the last few days. That is such good news! Lord knows I need a feel good story right now. Praying for him and his wife both for strength. I am sure it has been panic mode for his poor family. He is young,. . . too young. It shows his strength and will to survive. God Bless Him!!

TN people: because of the shooting in Kenosha , local radio host Phil Valentine had an expert on yesterday to talk about the options we Tennesseans have when in comes to shooting people. Basically, these bastards can be throwing grenades into your house, but if they aren't specifically aiming at you, you can't do anything.

As long as it isn't a human they are hurting, we are out of luck. In lieu of these shootings, etc, they are hoping it will be taken up by the State Legislature when they convene.

Here is what a TN attorney has posted...

“Until 2007, long-standing Tennessee law prohibited a person legally at home from using deadly force on an illegal intruder if he or she could safely retreat.

In May 2007, however, the Tennessee Legislature passed, and Governor Phil Bredesen signed the “Stand Your Ground” law which removed the duty to retreat in most circumstances.

Q. What exactly does Tennessee’s “Stand Your Ground” law say?

First, the words “stand your ground” are not in the law, which appears at Tennessee Code Annotated section 39-11-611 and is simply titled “Self-defense.”

Tennessee’s “Self-defense” law states that:

  • A person who is not engaged in unlawful activity, and
  • Who is in a place where the person has a right to be,
  • Legally has no duty to retreat before threatening or using force against another person who unlawfully and forcibly enters a residence, business, dwelling, or vehicle,
  • When and to the degree the person reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force.

The law also provides criminal and civil immunity for persons using physical or deadly force to protect themselves from an attacker, subject to certain exceptions.

Q. What are the exceptions when the “Self-defense” law does NOT allow use of defensive force?

The law PROHIBITS physical or deadly force from being used in several key situations:

  • Against a person who is a lawful resident or who has the right to be in the dwelling, business, residence, or vehicle; or
  • Against a person attempting to remove his or her child or grandchild, or who is attempting to remove a child for whom he or she has lawful custody or guardianship; or
  • Against a law enforcement officer who enters or attempts to enter a dwelling, business, residence, or vehicle in the performance of the officer's official duties.“

I think maybe some emails to politicians might be in order.
