Good points, both! I try to keep a positive attitude as much as possible about anything at all. Especially being in the woods. Maverick, I think that is an EXCELLENT way of honing skills. No doubt about it.

Very little is needed in the back country if one knows the area, all the fancy equipment we pack in is of temporary value so it is imperative to know the area, some areas can offer a lifetime of what is needed
