The old heavily used larger 1 1/4" pop can penny stove (alcohol burner), 2oz fuel (8 hole 1/8) with internal insulation burn time 33 minutes

The smaller 3/4" new improved stove w/base 1oz fuel (6 hole 1/16) with no insulation 15 minutes burn time (not much of an improvement though get higher flames, I can hear the jets)

A comparison

The new stove in action, 8 minutes to bring 2 cups to boil without lid outside temp 64deg using a folding sterno encloser

my old stove w/base packed in a cut down duct tape pringles tube
