Short Wave radios can come in handy. The best little inexpensive Short Wave Radio out there is no longer made but you can still buy them on Ebay.
It's called (either) Eton or Grundig Mini 300. The tuner is rather sensative but a great little radio. It is AM/FM/SHORT WAVE.
