I am sorry but the crime is when they have it done. Before 18- a crime. I actually think the age for this consent should be 21, they want to make that the age for guns.
I admit as having a very beautiful step son who likes to live as a woman_ let them be they are what they are. No skin off my nose. As long as they are of age.

I can be respectful enough to call him/her the new M name rather than the given G name. I may get the pronouns wrong though. Even his mother get those wrong In conversation.
My personal opinion is that no one is doing a mentally ill person a favor by indulging them in their lack of reality. I realize we all have different opinions…

I agree with GP.
I think it should be illegal for doctors to perform these surgeries except in very rare cases like the ones when babies are transitioned due to botched circumcision or children born with deformities have a gender chosen for them. Otherwise, it goes against the hippocratic oath.
There are too many people who have regretted their decisions after getting appropriate mental help and it's just wrong to put them through that.
I have a lot of compassion for those who are going through this, so I don't disagree that they deserve compassion. But I don't think it's in their best interest to mutilate them. I have seen too many mastectomy surgeries- they are horrific on their own. The bottom surgeries would be even more so.
And I think there was a miscommunication about what I think should be illegal- I don't think a person getting the surgery is at fault. They clearly are not in the right state of mind. It is the doctors I believe who are committing the crime.
I never said illegal. I said it was a crime. Chromosomes can never be changed. People who get these surgeries are delusional.
When the surgery doesn't achieve their delusion -- they often become suicidal. Some go the path of "misery loves company" and become "activists".
But the fact is -- they are created. This phenomenon just didn't happen in the last few years. This is the natural progression of promoting and nurturing people's delusions, indulgences, and drug abuse.
All of this was listed in the "45 Goals of Communism" published in the 1950s. Nothing organic about any of it. They purposely go after children and change their normal until they are so confused that they want to chop off body parts. It's sick. And a crime against humanity.
I agree. I was replying to EW when I said that. I do believe it should be an illegal procedure, though.
As a cancer patient, I couldn't get half of the treatments I wanted to try because the FDA was supposedly protecting me from quack doctors... who is protecting the trans people from quack doctors??
Where is the outrage that it is giving them "false hope"? Where are the complaints that it isn't proven to extend life? Why aren't scores of doctors gasping and clutching their pearls because it's "taking advantage of desperate patients"?
Oh, I know where they are- greedily raking in the chemotherapy monies or brainwashed into believing it is somehow helping.
I get a little fired up when taking about legalities of medicine, but I need to remember the Bible tells us that we will see the reversal of logic and right and wrong. So, it is nothing I should be surprised about.
But when I see cases of men and women who regret their choices otmr are still depressed and unsatisfied, it makes me angry.
