There are multiple types of true paracord; The chart below will give you an idea of what you get from each type. The cord you found at your local Home Depot, may not be the type III cord (at least 7 two ply yarns) but it may suit your purpose. Many times the type III (attached image) cord may be more strength then you need, and you can get buy purchasing type II. Type I and IA is used simply for tie down, but cannot hold weight. Need a bore snake for your AR/M4, take your type II or III paracord, remove the guts, tie a knot in the center, and bingo, cleans your rifled barrel to a sparkling clean! I have just started making paracord bracelets so far ive only learned to do the cobra stitch weave,ive done some bracelets and a dog collar, hopefully will learn more weaves in the near future

Cool, awesome stuff huh ! Makes for good knife lanyards also.

made me a edc (every day carry) pouch. i put it on the back of belt and wear it every where and i enjoy it. only thing i would have done different is either a detachable belt clip or made it on a snap ring.

gman, I like it...but yes, detachable would be good!
