The Problem Gary lies with Hollywood and Elstree, Both have been totally innacurate, dishonest, untruthful and distorted when they made the Movies we tend to see as Gospel. According to Elstree Britain, sometimes even only ENGLAND won WW1, when in fact it was up to 20 other nations including you guys, Indians, Africans, Rhodesians, Australians, Kiwis, Pacific Islanders, Free Irish, Caribbeans, Free Spanish, French Canadians and many more.

Elstree often portrays the RAF in the Battle of Britain as being all being stiff upper lip English chaps, But there was YANKS in the RAF from 1939, Canadians from 1939, Irish from 39, Rhodesians, South Africans, Ozzies and Canucks, and after 1940 thousands of Poles, Dutch, Free French, Greeks etc etc.

Hollywood portrays the war in the Pacific as being between the US and Japan often only featuring the USN and Marines, When the US army and Coastguard were involved to. British fleets, Canadian, Kiwi , Indians and Aussie ships fought very closely with the US often under the direct command of the US.

We BOTH actually got VERY sneaky, Look up the USS ROBIN Aircraft carrier which was an integral part of the US fleet, Its actually OUR carrier HMS VICTORIOUS repainted in US colours but with Brit and Yank crew
