Doomsday prophecies come and go, and save for a few random suicides and emptying of bank accounts, most of them pass by without much of a fuss.
For one man in China, however, he can only hope that 2012 is the end of the world.
Hailing from Luohe City in Henan Province, the man has hired a bunch of workers to help him construct a veritable “Noah’s ark.”
Costing a modest 20,000 RMB, or $3,130, the ark is being constructed out of an oil tank that checks in at 8 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. To allow adequate air flow, it contains three vents, windows, and has six wheels for easy transport.
The tank can hold hold more than 20 people, though little has been said regarding the capacity for one of every type of animal. It’s divided into three compartments: one for storage, one for sleeping, and the other for using the bathroom.
It will also apparently include air conditioning, power generators, and kitchen appliances.
