Hello All, I am interested in meeting like minded people and learning new things to better myself. I wouldn't consider myself a hard core Prepper or Doomsdayer, I still like to be ready for any of life's uncertainties.

In looking around with my realistic way of thinking, it's just a matter of time before something happens. Regardless of who or what is responsible for it, nothing good will follow.

I would much rather have the tools and knowledge of survival and not need them, then to need them and not have them!

Hi and welcome to DPF from a fellow prepper from Finland...yup,that far away ;) , **** tends to fly far and fast...

howdy from a texan .... and welcome to the forum and family...there's quiet a few knowledgeable folks here that'll gladly tell ya what you need to know,or at least point ya in the right direction and/or give ya a good idea or 2..and by all means jump right on in with any replies you have on a topic.and start new topics if/when needed..

Just wanted to say thanks for the nice welcome, looking forward to spending some serious time on the Forum for when things slow down for me. White, Cold, Frozen, Yeah! that time of year. :)

Welcome. You're already in a pretty decent location in one of the "flyover states"...for survival.
Of course, some of us (me included) will tell you...it isn't about surviving a SHTF event, but still thriving after one.

Surviving is easy (I mean, wild animals do it every day). LIVING decently though.....that's what we prep for. Come the apocalypse, I'd like to still have running water, working toilets, food to eat, etc.

Not just that, but any kind of interruption to life, not just the end of days. Heck, losing a job can be a SHTF event, just a localized one. My preps have helped our family on numerous occasions without zombies at the gates. Prepping is just smart, it isn't wacky, no matter what certain TV shows seem to think, hehe.

IMO... Prepping is no different then maintenance on your vehicle, it just helps assure that you keep on boogieing down that road called Life! :) Regardless of all the potholes and obstacles in the way! :tank:
