Howdy from a Texan .... and welcome to the forum and family...there's quite a few knowledgeable folks here that'll gladly tell ya what you need to know,or at least point ya in the right direction and/or give ya a good idea or2..and by all means jump right on in with any replies you have on a topic.

God bless you Sir. Thank you for your reply. I keep up with as many sources as I can about the US. Canada is not far behind you regarding Political uncertainty and changing values.

In 1993, a Supreme Court decision concluded Canadians have no constitutional right to bear arms. We can purchase and use Firearms but we are under fairly strict regulations and of course there is a Gun Registration Program here. They can come for guns at any time.

I want to begin prepping. I feel I am late getting into shape for when SHTF. I have to start now. Resourses / Forums / Groups are greatly lacking here in Canada (East Coast).

Whatever happens in the US is basically going to happen here. I am a Christian beliver Sir. I will be praying for you and this Forum.

Thank you for your reply "jonette". I have been watching online about many Countries around the world. It is hard to believe sources of any kind because of planted fake news everywhere.

Here is link giving an assceement regarding Finland. Is this accurate or is there much B.S. in it?

Warm Welcome from the Arizona valley folks. :USA:

on terrorism; fairly accurate, the big question now is ;are those moroons letting those isis-brides and others back or not,the growth on the far-right
started the same day those mussies came,as my current gov clearly lied to us.
far-left is a big ?
are they willing to do something? prolly together with some mussies as they seem to like them.

war; our military have been training more and more, even assymetric warfare and how to counter that.
the reserve has far more opportunities to train than 5 years ago ( my self included,as I signed up ) ,currently my status
is "active" if it goes towards SHTF..

social stability ; on that will the next election tell, personally thanks to activities from our very hated prime minister I lost hundreds of euros,so I would never ever vote for a wanker like that or his party.
and people are fed-up,so there might be strikes on the horizon.
as are many fed-up to pay for those mussies while they just loiter, groom and rape..

Good day folks.
I am from New Brunswick, Canada, just above Maine. I can't seem to find preppers in my area of Southern New Brunswick. Getting prepared with several individuals might be best but when preppers are spread so far apart it's difficult to form alliances. When S.H.T.F. communications will be down as well. The hordes of hungry folks will start forming within a short period. Even those that were prudent in keeping their prepper activities secret will be targeted when these hordes perform systematic house to house searches. Preppers will be taken out when found and their resourses stolen. These City preppers will be forced to become part of the hordes or form new hordes in order to survive. Here in Canada the authorities know for the most part who has the guns and will come after them. Bug out preppers will also become targets when information passes through the hordes that they exist. Sadly city preppers when hungry will be aware that bug out preppers are out there and start hunting them also. The hordes will be difficult to fend off just because of the numbers and they will be relentless. Raising a ruckus and killing some will not be enough to keep them away for long. The bugout preppers may be discovered by accident when those of the population hunt out all the available game in the outlying areas. The game will be hunted out fairly quickly and the hunt will be on for preppers in those areas. I guess most that read this will write me off because my forthright assessment may be to graphically real for their minds to process. Please forgive me for being what appears to be negative. I pose the observations because I want real advice regarding tough questions. Unlike the U.S. we have no second amensment. As a matter of fact in 1993 there was a Supreme Court decision that concluded Canadians have no constitutional right to bear arms. What are some stratagies that might best prolong the fight to survive within the circumstances I have described? I have been told here that there are no stupid questions. Maybe I am the stupid one for asking.
Thank you and God Bless.

Warm Welcome from the Arizona valley folks. :USA:

If you see rosey pictures then you would not need to prep. We prep for all sorts of reasons and to all sorts of degrees. I am known for my paranoia. So welcome to my world. :D

Welcome from Alabama. I’m not prepping for paranoia, but I do see all the changes that have happened in my life.

Power corrupts, and it seems over the past many years, there are those who are power hungry. Kind of like a friend always said: I love my country but I don’t trust our government.

Here, we have tornadoes as well, and sometimes tropical storms. That’s a big thing for me to prep for.

A question:
In the event that an EMP takes out all electronic instruments, is it possible to have for instance, a cell phone, a small charging solar panel, glucose monitoring device, GPS device and many other useful instruments etc., in some kind of EMP proof container that can be unearthed and the devices utilized later? Is there such a container that can shield such devices?
Thank you and God bless.

I’m sure there is a way, but with all the internet opinions, nobody is sure what will work and what won’t. I think everyone agrees that the big question would be where the emp came from.

We have even had someone to ask us about emf resistant paint. I found this

http://www.lessemf.com/paint.html

but I don’t know how it’d work in an emp.

I also found nets with strands of silver in it, but expensive.

All say they have to be grounded.

Hey Folks....

Just my recommendation regarding the use of a VPN. Uncle Sam (NSA) USA and ( CSIS ) Canada, is always watching over your shoulder. Why make it easy for them.
________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Internet allows us to connect with virtually anyone, anywhere. For some governments, this connectivity is seen as a threat. Most countries use some form of electronic tracking to keep track of terrorists and criminals.

But for every criminal they monitor, governments also capture – and store – personal information belonging to millions of law-abiding citizens. In some countries, like China, this online surveillance is obvious. But in others like the USA and UK, the extent of civilian monitoring only became apparent after the PRISM spying program was revealed.

Privacy is your right – and there’s no reason you have to reveal your secrets to the government just because you want to use the Internet.

Here are some ways you can better protect yourself.
1. Use a VPN
A virtual private network (VPN) is used to encrypt traffic between your device and the websites and services you access online. The right VPN service, like that included with a Panda Dome Premium subscription, encrypts and anonymises traffic, making it much harder for government agencies to track you online.

2. Use encrypted chat apps
Instant messaging apps are now more important for person-to-person communications than SMS, email or social networking. Which is why government agencies spent so much time and effort on monitoring mobile communications.

SMS text messaging is relatively insecure, open to interception. Choosing an encrypted app like iMessage or Telegram will help to prevent your chats and picture messages from being captured by government surveillance programs.

3. Consider physical security
It’s not just your emails and text messages that government agencies are interested in. They also collect location data using the GPS system built into your phone so they can tell where you’ve been, where you are, and even to predict where you will go next. Obviously disabling your phone’s GPS can get round this tracking – but it means that your maps and weather apps won’t work.

That’s not enough on its own however. Your phone is constantly connecting to cell towers so you can make and receive calls – but those connections can be triangulated, to calculate your location again. The only way to prevent triangulation is to turn your phone off – or to store it in a special bag that can block radio signals.

The trouble is that you cannot make or receive calls while the phone is in the bag. And as soon as you take it out of the bag, your location will be revealed.

Use common sense
The reality is that you probably cannot be completely anonymous online – but you can minimize your exposure. Aside from using an anonymous VPN, your best protection is common sense. Before doing anything online, take a moment to think, ‘how might my privacy be compromised – and what can I do to reduce the risk?’

Answer those questions and you are well on your way to avoiding the most common forms of government surveillance.

Thank you and God Bless.
Ben.

Well Folks....

I just read an article on another Site that I will not mention. I have no desire to criticize other Prepper Sites at all.

The question I would like to put forward for discussion is as follows:

Is Social Media: A Valuable Tool For Preppers?

I.E. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram , and the list goes on.........

What would you consider as valuable and what would you consider as problematic?

I have my own opinions but would value yours.

Thank you and God bless.
Ben.
