A Venezuelan naval boat picked a fight with the wrong ship.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/03/americas/venezuela-navy-cruise-liner-incident-intl/index.html
A Venezuelan naval boat picked and lost a fight with a passenger cruise liner off the country's northern coast this week, ramming it several times before accidentally taking on water and sinking.

The proprietors of the German-owned RCGS Resolute cruise ship said its vessel had been receiving maintenance in international waters on Tuesday morning when the armed navy boat approached it and ordered it to change direction.
The encounter escalated when, according to the company, "gun shots were fired and, shortly thereafter, the navy vessel approached the starboard side at speed with an angle of 135 degrees and purposely collided with the RCGS Resolute."
"The navy vessel continued to ram the starboard bow in an apparent attempt to turn the ship's head towards Venezuelan territorial waters," Columbia Cruise Services' statement read.
However, the RCGS Resolute is reinforced with steel plating to help it navigate through ice.
"While the RCGS Resolute sustained minor damages, not affecting vessel's seaworthiness, it occurs that the navy vessel suffered severe damages while making contact with the ice-strengthened bulbous bow of the ice-class expedition cruise vessel RCGS Resolute and started to take water," the company's statement said.

I think that’s awesome the shits sunk! I hope the cruise liner didn’t send a lifeboat out....
The Venezuelan Navy sent a search and rescue mission to pick them up from the sinking boat. I don't know why the cruise ship would even consider picking up people that attacked them unprovoked.

When a countries Navy has to resort to piracy, then you know that county is in really deep doo- doo!
Not really sure what they were up to. I guess they were trying to force the ship into Venezuelan waters so they could have a justification for seizing it. The azzhats got a heaping helping of Karma instead, LOL.

Venezuela is one very small step from becoming a second Somalia. Almost no food, restricted water supplies, restricted electricity, gangs running wild, fake elections and the final straw, almost no medical supplies. A cruise ship would make a very nice hostage for ransom. Claim it violated their territorial waters and get paid to release these "Villainous" intruders.

2It might have actually been a "military or naval" ship...but who was at the helm? Was the new "owner" of this naval ship just one of the new-rich and self-made warlords of Venezuela or a real Naval sad-sack-sidekick of the "ruling" and "democratic" leader of the richest poor little privately owned nation on the South American continent?? They were trying to turn the ship towards Venezuelan waters. One can only assume that they were trying to get the ship into Venezuelan waters so as to have justification for seizing it.
