I just screen shot this and thought of everyone trying to get their preps done.

All of the mills in my area are milling and shipping as quickly as possible. Every mill is hiring and working overtime. Lumber is a commodity. Just like oil, the mills do not set the price for lumber. Lumber is sold on the open market and supply and demand sets the price. Log sales on public lands (forest service, state, BLM) are sold to highest bidder. Currently there is no shortage of logs in my area, thanks in part to the fires of last summer.
Much of the country is experiencing a huge building boom, which affects price of materials more than anything else.

Read that lumber prices are going down. We have to redo deck too.
Thats good to know. I have some 1×12's on order to finish the atv storage shed. I have a new wood shed and an extension on the fur shed under construction. I was quoted over $5200 in materials for the roof over the rear deck. Maybe it'll be a little less now.
