I know its just entertainment but I noticed the U.S , Brits , Aussies have all had their Dooms day movies . I just watched a Zombie apocolypes movie from South Africa called The Dead it made in 2010 . It was very good for a SYFY channel movie meant to be sierious and not alot of humor at hapless victimes , folks did what they could to survive . The military gear was well thought out with what you see in Africa some British , French , Russian .
suid you are right about the communist just like alot of the crap Obama has pushed through here someone has to pay the bill . Socialisim will eventualy break down any strong thriving nation .

Latest news now is The newly formed communist party called EFF.(economic freedom fighters). Have started with farm and ground. they just simply take it from white poeple. Like in Zimbabwe a few years ago. The police were there and the Eff said they will not stop and if the police try to stop them they will fight. Sadly there is not a word about it on the media or any news forum about it.

I hate to say it but I'm prepping for the collapse of south deep a mere 23 km from where I live. Though my parents don't believe me the quake and economic downturn caused by this is enough to destroy this already crippled country.

My uncle Roy and I have been prepping for the past two years building the bug out vehicle for two, collecting arms, food... four ferret armoured cars.

My pride an joy is my own 2011 mini cooper coupe. Fitted with an ecoboost from Ford I coated it in a thin layer of kevlar pasted down with carbon fibre pasting and second layer of aluminium and nickel like a sandwich. We have steel cages protecting the boot, chassis and engine compartment. It was modified to 4x4 with five inches of ground clearance, I wrongly measured it as nine inches previously. The fortuner styled forward bumper is being filled with melted tungsten carbide as is the same with the hollow camping rail on the roof. Bulletproof double tinted glass makes this the world's fastest tank at 206 km/h.

Hi. Hope you dont die in an accident before you get to test your " tank" It would be a pitty. I mean you did build it for the " right" reasons.
Have you tested the tank against bullets. I would like to know what was your findings against differant falibers such as 5.56 and 7.62 and then shotguns

The tank, having great fuel economy and power at 220nm is capable of taking up to a 44. Without damage. The windows can only take a 36. Overall it is capable of taking a fifty calibre blunt shot to the front and doors the back and belly are relatively unguarded but I can't protect everything so I mean to take apart the boot to fill the door with lightweight plastic beads, the bottom is being given a 160 to 170 degree aluminium V shaped hull over the next two weeks.

That is cool.
Check out on the net how they build CASPERS you will it usefull when you build your v-shape hull

I only have about two inches to create this V shape so it'll be Le troublesome unless I steel plate the bottom. Create extra suspension to make the wheels a bit higher and then add a caper like V.

No what i meant was using the same principal as they do. You know base your design on their idea. I mean after all they did get it right.
But then again to protect the belly is useless because if you hit a landmine it will just rip everything into pieces.
And it will blow half your car away. I have seen those things not only damagimg the tracks of a real tank but completely flipped the tank on its roof. And they are like 60 tonnes. I would rather use the money to install shooting holes and spend it of selfdefence on the car. Like maybe a automatic rifle with lots of ammo. I say this simply because its only really a landmine that will damage the car and its the only reason you would need a V-hull. And say what you will but it will never help against a mine. Not even something as simple as a POM-Z

No no. By all means you must do the upgrade. All i am saying is dont spend your money on the hull and rather on the other more important stuff you need on the car

I see what you mean with the casper V shape it's probably not bad to use the increased height to create a more angled V still keeping an extra five inches ground clearance and making the suspension a bit more 'flexible' for off roading. Any weapon instillation you would recommend under ten thousand rand.

Here is what i would do for a weapon on the car.
Find a military tipe weapon
R1 or the G3 or the R4
The reason for one of the 3 weapons is because the ammo is always available
R1 and G3 both use .308 (7.62) rounds)
And its fairly cheap
R4 uses .223 (5.56) rounds
Vairly cheap and always available.

More specifically you want older tipe weapons(1980-1995)
The reason for that is that they are proven in battle and extremely relyable.
The are all semi auto
The best part of these weapons is that you only need to a small modification to male them full auto.

However i must advice you against this because its illegal to own a full auto weapon in SA
And secondly and most important is when the weapon is in full auto o

And secondly when the weapon is in full auto you will be wasting your ammo cause its hard to keep them on target in full auto so only 1in5 rounds really hits the target.

Why these older weapons?
The are relyable
Cheap ammo
Proven in battle
Full auto option
And the best part the are the whole country full and with a few phonecalls to some of the right people you can get it for between 2000 to 5000

I'm actually getting a 1969 Mini and equipping it with a one litre Ford ecoboost engine. At the same time I'm going to give it two centimeters of steel armour all round. Probably going to give it the bumpers of a 4x4 and a camping rail. I'll also give it independent suspension in a casper style which'll give it about ten to twelve inches of ground clearance. As far as weapons I'll take out the passenger seat and mount an anti tank rifle we got from Tor.

Greetings, some nice discussions on here and some interesting ideas.....

The problem with RSA is the fact that because the government doesn't disclose anything with the people living within it, this makes it extremely difficult to know when something bad will happen... the only option is the be prepared and to know what you are going to do when the time comes....

The other issue with the country is that the most of the current members police force and the military is from the current governments right wing groups. So thus being said between these two forces they will most likely not assist any of the whites sad but its true....

main thing to prepare for in RSA is civil warfare

Hi everyone,

I am from South Africa, living at the Garden Route. Even though this is a very beautiful part of Southern Africa it has its disadvantages.

One of the disadvantages is that only one road connects the Garden Route to the rest of the country and if this road would be destroyed by natural disaster or an act of terrorism the supply chain (food, resources like fuel etc) would be broken. Based on the landscape, deep canyons and inaccessible mountains, restoring the supply chain could take weeks if not months.

This is why I prepare – besides other, more political reasons. So if you are from South Africa or Namibia let me know why you are a prepper or why you look into becoming one.

I look forward to get to know likeminded folks from the region and to share knowledge, visions and realities.

Until then – keep a positive mindset and keep on prepping!

Hi, I am a Capetonian prepper. I have about 4 months food and roughly 20000 Litres of water at my disposal along with water filters. Looking to connect with any and all SA preppers. Please let me know if you are still active on this forum.

Hi CapePrepper, I am in Gauteng, Randburg but moving house to Centurion so we kind of rotated the canned foods out so that there is less to take with, leaving my water supply (200 litres) behind for my parents who are going to remain at my old house.
