It's officially New Year's Eve!

We just pigged out on my Birthday/New Year's traditional dinner of ginormous lobster tails drenched in clarified butter. A baguette, salad and roasted asparagus on the side. Yum, yum, yum! With that comes another year's notch on the bed post and a few more pounds on the bod.

I’m out like a light at 8:00. Then at midnight I wake up for a few seconds when my family starts to hoot and holler, then it’s off to la-la land again.

I usually fall asleep in the chair in front of the TV trying to stay awake until midnight. I'm allergic to champagne and wine in quantity (I just cook with a wee bit of them), so I can't even enjoy imbibing on New Year's Eve like the rest of the world. :{

There’s an Indian reservation in close proximity to my acreage. Every New Years Eve at 12 midnight, the little buggers start shooting their firearms, sometimes in fully automatic mode.

Fireworks and gunfire had been going off so I spent some time out with the goats in the barn. They are very restless, but at least not beating down the walls (right now). I am tired so they may be on their own by midnight. @Buttoni Had I not come in, I would be falling asleep on the milking staunch with a baby on my lap.

Ha Ha and LOVE! I have had billies that freaked out so much that they have knocked down barn walls. I guess I should have said that I was not so much worried about the goats themselves but rather the barn that they live in . . .

Who could ever complain of that life?! So glad you enjoyed the New Year coming in! We received a lobster, clam, shrimp broil yesterday that we ordered from Maine. Can’t wait to have it this evening!

Well so far 2021 is looking good. We didn't get any new snow over night. I sat up by the wood stove last night but was asleep by 10.
