it would be nice to have unlimited funds, like our government seems to think. I was considering what I would like to do prepping wise if money was no object. Three things came to mind right off.
First off would to buy a better piece of property. Larger, more remote, good water source, etc. what I have now is pretty good and I’ve got no complaints, but it’s nice to dream.
Second, I would like the house to be bullet proof. Most people don’t realize that even a 22cal can go through most house walls. If an armed roving gang ever attacked, your house is not a good place to make a stand. In all those old western movies men were protected by cabin walls during shootouts. Trust me, don’t try this in the real world. I’m thinking 12” block, filled with cement. I’ve read that will stop a 50cal.
Third would be energy independence. A really good solar system would make one less thing to have to worry about.
I’m just curious what other ideas are out there.

Well I happen to have it planned out. This is the readers digest version. This would be 50-100 acres of land.

1. Located at least 60 miles from a significant metropolitan area.
2. Not located near a highway or major roadway.
3. Sustainable water source preferably from a creek, stream, or pond – in addition to a well.
4. Not attached to municipal water lines or sewer system, but a private septic system.
5. A substantial portion of the land is usable for hunting and firewood harvesting.
6. Accessible only by 4-wheel drive vehicles.
7. Located at the end of a dead-end road – bonus points if the road is gravel or dirt and not paved.
8. Property has a long and secluded drive that prevents the home and growing areas from being viewed from the road.
9. The home and large portions of the property are surrounded by hills, rugged terrain, or mountains.
10. The prepper compound has significant southern exposure areas for gardening and growing areas.
11. Multiple power sources, solor, wind, firewood, propane, hydrolic, with diesel/propane generators.
12. Stored food and supplies for 2 years. 1 year of long term food for all residence.
13. Enough weapons and ammo for everyone forever and the capability to repair and do reloads.
14. Chickens, pigs, ducks, goats, sheep, dexter cattle and horses.
15. Main field garden, several raised box gardens, greenhouse garden. Fruit trees and variety of trees.
16. Buildings made of concrete filled cinder blocks with metal roofs. Bulletproof double windows, UV filtered air system.
17. A water well and a creek or spring fed pond. Water filter systems and 1000 gallon tank.
18. Medical supplies for 10 years and medicinal plants and herbs.
19. Tools and hardware for everything on the compound.

Buy 5000 acres northwest Montana where the only way in is by air, invite select few with knowledge in certain areas to build there own home, my brother is a pilot both plain and helicopter so is his wife they have two planes and a heavy lift helio, they also talk about that at one time. Diffidently have farm animals and a small ranch, also have a large solar farm and 3 80 eKW CAT industrial generator propane/diesel. That's a start off the top of my head.

I see you already started lol

Money is NO OBJECT? Well hell, I'd buy Cheyenne Mountain! I'm sure there is SOME PRICE that they will sell it for. Might be in the 10 figure range though. Of course if the Stargate is real, that might make it a bit more difficult. But hey! Money is no object, right? LOL

On a more realistic note...
I'd build a log home at the BOL with cypress logs. BIG ones. Cover it with solar panels. Then tell my wife to quit her job since we have no lack of money anymore.

Move even further out, some place with no near neighbours, I already have a property and location in mind, one I have already scouted. old stone built ex school house, big rooms, larder, log store, large workshop, greenhouse and garden large enough for my needs. septic tank drainage, stream fed private water supply.
located in an area which to most people is "in the middle of nowhere", on the edge of the moors, not on the way to anywhere, not a place anyone goes through to get somewhere else- there are easier ways to go.

I don't think I'd do too much different than what I've already done. We're sitting in the middle of thousands of acres of forest and open range land, miles from the nearest neighbor and a couple miles off the county road. Town is 18 miles away. We're in what is considered a low population area; county pop 2,800, town 500. Main industry here is timber and cattle ranching. No resorts and no targets. We have large herds of elk and deer on the property with wild turkey, grouse, quail, etc. and fish in the pond. We aren't totally self sufficient yet but we have a good start.
The wife is planning to quit her job in a couple of years and join me here full time. Then everything will be complete.

I would have a better setup with weapons, better quality, better integration, and better tools.

I would start working on getting 10 or so acres of land, with a spring or solid year round stream, within an hour of a decent size city so my wife can live HER dreams while I live mine. Whether that close to a city is ideal is another story, but a marriage has to be about compromise. And it is her passion, not just her job, even wealthy she would still want to do it.

I would have a nice, but small, shop.

I would have 2 better vehicles, and I would get the Ranchero mint.

MONEY NO PROBLEM,,,WOW,,,,,first the location I would buy large acreage in the middle of a national forest at least 100 miles from a nuclear target, then the bunker/home with 3 levels all nuke proof with several exit tunnels the rest of the place laid out to look like an average farm or ranch,,,,independent power supply a mixture of solar and wind and enough propane to last two lifetimes ,,,,and lets not forget underground equipment storage, several ATV's and UTV's all converted to run on propane!!!!!!!!!!!

food for 5 years ,,,,all semi auto weapons will be either Les Baer or Wilson Combat,

I see you haven’t given this much thought! :)

what about not getting into debt in the first place? debt is just too easy.
servicing a debt is a loss to prepping.

AND...... CANCELLED!!

For the time being. With just starting the second job, and having to save up for the Grand Canyon trip, I just can't take a week off to do it.

If they don't give us the back country permit for the North Rim, I will set up to do the BOL river trip later this year. Sucks, but I can't afford to take a week off.

If money was no object, there's a ranch not far from me that's selling off 55,000 acres. It's has about 30 miles of rivers and creeks running through it and millions of board feet of standing timber. I'd buy it but I just can't quite come up with the asking price without taking on a partner.

if shtf, who's going to be COLLECTING any debts, eh? and what would be the payment? The $100 bill will be toilet tissue. There will be no system, no enforement, just chaos. There will be no way to say who owns what, other than brute force. I'd never waste a dime buying any land, for a fact, and I'd have no worries at all about being in debt. If shtf, I want all the debt I can get, in terms of food and gear.

if money was truly no object, I'd create an entirely new shooting sport, for single women only, using pocket 22's, while wearing concealed armor. Nothing beyond 5m, most of it inside 10 ft, mixed with hand to hand fighting, all very fast, from concealment, all head shots. I'd pay a really hot cadre of women to train with me for months, until I had 50 of them who could perform on TV, international audience, at an extremely high level and able to teach other women to do the same. I'd pay more and more of them extremely well. I'd have televised, high- paying matches every weekend, every 50 miles up and down the US.

It would be such a big deal that the men would have no choice but to create a centerfire version of it on their own. There would be SO many people constantly ccw'ing a pistol, and being so skilled with it, and so deeply involved in competing with it, that we could get rid of every antigun law, every antigun politician, along with the pos thugs who prey on people at the physical level, too.

because everyone would know that head shots would be required to commit crimes, that they'd be shot within seconds if they try it, , and cause pos's are too cheap and lazy to build such skills, get such equipment, etc the right people would be much better off and the pos's would leave or be dead. Good riddance, either way.
