Last night I had this terrible dream...of course now that it is hours later and I've worked all night, I can't recall all of the details of the dream but I recall enough. In this dream, everything was just fine like any other day, then all of the sudden I looked out my window and saw fields on fire... something was falling from the sky causing the fires, I'm not sure if it was mother nature related/astronomical or man made bombs etc. but the fields were a-blaze nontheless.
I began to panic and ran to the closet to get my bug out bags but it was then that I realized my bags weren't yet packed and I began to run around frantically trying to think and gather what I needed. Of course this wasn't working out for me lol I kept running back to the window only to see the fires progressing towards my home, each time I checked it seemed that they were moving faster than the last time I'd looked.
My father was in the dream also and he was giving up. He has diabetes very badly in real life and I think that in the dream he realized that without insulin he would be a burden and die soon and he decided to stay behind. This just made me more frantic.
That's where the dream ended but I woke up freaking out. I have been putting off packing up the bags (not for any specific reason other than lack of free time with working so many hours) and I have been worried about it not being done. This must have been my subconscious manifesting my fears and kicking my ### into gear. We can't put this stuff off cuz we will NOT be able to think clearly and pack the things we need in a situation where time is limited and you gotta get to getting in a hurry.
Sooooo...when I got off of work, I came in the door to find 3 HUGE bug out bags packed on the kitchen table/floor. My SO then gave me some receipts to deduct from the debit card and when I asked him what for he replied "prepping stuff I got tonight, bags are packed...oh, and btw....do you know if we can get OTC antibiotics anywhere?!"
My jaw about hit the floor. As many of you know, I've been prepping in semi-secret. My SO knew that I am slightly obsessed with the SHTF stuff, but he didn't know I had a cache of stuff already stored away. He had no clue I was prepping really. So I was in shock and awe of what had happened what seemed like overnight. I also NEVER mentioned my dream to him, nor my worries about packing bug out bags. Weird....just a lil :)

WOW....... That's a friggin weird dream. That's a scary thing to imagine. I used to have similar dreams as a kid about looking out the window and seeing nukes going off. I could never get anyone t believe me until it was too late and that blast had made it all the way to us. I don't think we could really out run a nuke, but the fear and it's reasoning was similar, it seems.

I'm really glad you came home to such a pleasant surprise! What a relief, eh? I'm really relieved to not be the only one in our house and families, so I can only imagine you are too. Is your Dad on board with prepping? My Dad is a diabetic, too. My Mother has more health problems than I could begin to mention... I talk to them ALL THE TIME about it. I worry about them and my wife's whole family constantly. They're counting on buggin in, which I think will be hard around this area. My wife is BIG on prepping too, so I am eternally grateful for that. I thank God as often as I think to for pairing us up. She's the best partner I could imagine having.... Our skills are different and we bring different things to the table so we make a good match.

Thanks for the post, hj1984.....

Greetings,
That was a wild experience you wrote about. Sorry you had to go through that. But on the flip side at least you know now that your SO is on board!!!!
I had a similar experience with my wife just yesterday. I ordered an AK 47 3 weeks ago and she was a little upset about it being so close to Christmas and all, and how could i buy that and not spend the cash on the kids gifts, and blah, blah, blah.
So the gun comes in and she asks how much ammo i have. I tell her 100 rounds.
She says order 1000 rounds and thats her gift to me. I tell her thats OK i'll wait.
So, two weeks later ( yesterday ) were at lunch and she says I should order the ammo. Again I say I'll wait.
She says that I deserve the ammo and I should order it TONIGHT!
I asked why so rushed, and she says so it will be here before Dec. 21.
Thats when I realized she is beginning to see things as they really are.
I'm not saying I think the 21st is the end, but who knows.
Any way, you are blessed with a partner you share common ground with and thats a lot.
Others are not so lucky.
Be well, and prep well.

I feel bad for my wife. I can get her to freedom, but don't know how long I can fend off her health problems.

I think that's the scariest part when you have someone who needs medical attention. Your dream sounds like a lot of dreams most of us probably have.- (hj984) Unfortunately, I don't have any words of encouragement about having a person with medical problems...you can only do your best!

I know that this may sound horrible, but perhaps when we are faced with a situation where we have a family member or even ourselves who are in dire medical conditions which need vital medications; perhaps we should consider how to make that person's life more comfortable. I mean if the medication or equipment needed is just not available; insulin, ventilators, things like that. Maybe we should also consider how to make that person as comfortable and unstressed as possible if the inevitable is going to happen.

I bet your wife would find comfort in knowing, you did your best to protect her and that she would die free and not in a re-education camp
