Fences (and post SHTF, we'd be reinforcing these with long wooden poles every 4 feet)
Long, sharp spears (that can be stabbed through the fence)
Multiple layers of fencing (for fallback positions)
Grow lots of foliage on your outer fence (to obscure folks seeing you move around on your property)
