I wonder that when the people in Hawaii go the text that a ballist missile was on the way, how many had a come to Jesus moment? Or, how many just pooped their pants. I haven't seen video, but read they were running around screaming.

Someone is going to be fired. I' glad Trump was playing golf so he won't be blamed

they will find a way to blame Trump for this,,,,But Hawaii is the last place I would want to be during a nuclear strike,,,,,,NO WHERE TO HIDE,you are pretty much BURNT TOAST there

My daughter went there in October right after Un threatened. I was scared the whole time.

It was a Dem that sent out the alert. Thank goodness

so this time a false alarm...if it goes real, there wont be much you can do other than bend down and kiss your butt goodbye..

Everyone is gun shy right now. No doubt that whoever was responsible for that alert should be fired.....
I personally don’t think NK is a real threat. He may be a nut case but I don’t think he is suicidal, and launching anything at us would assure his destruction. I am certain he is aware of this.

You guys really need to stop believing the junk they hammered into our brains in the 80's about nuclear war....(and I'll include myself there)....

If the most recent yield nuke tested from NK was centered on Honolulu, it would hardly take out all of Hawaii. Granted, right in the city, it would kill over 49,000 people. (so the other 300,000 people are not dead).

So, while it would suck to be them, the whole island is not "toast". Even if 10 of them hit around the big island, many places would remain unscathed.

Of course, this also ignores the FIVE layers of ballistic missile defense these inbounds would have to defeat in order to airburst over the target.

As for Jamie's husband....my name, is Inigo Montoya...you killed my father...prepare to die!

Oh, no doubt there.... "you keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means...."

My cousin was on the phone with her mother and us saying a tearful goodbye. She and her roommates where hiding in the bathtub waiting. They got several alerts for 40 minutes it was actually giving them a countdown. When it hit 5 minutes to impact the tv finally gave the false alarm message. This doesn’t seem like an accident to me. It went on without cancellation for 38 minutes. They are in cover your ass mode right now but, it was waaaay worse than the media is saying. This is a lib run island so the media is DowN playing it for them however the residents aren’t buying the oops story that’s being pushed now.

Yeah I definitely feel like we're not being told the whole story. Now if it was Trumps fault then we would probably have every single detail by now..

Wow, 40 minutes, and multiple sources? That would even freak me out.

I really wish folks were more educated on it though. It seems that years of Hollywood falsehoods and media BS has really made us mostly ignorant of the true scope of a nuclear attack. It's FAR smaller than you'd think.

No missile (even at the height of the cold war) is going to take out the whole island. Modern nukes would take a good portion of a city at best.

Not to mention, in an actual attack, there are at least 5 (public) layers of defense of the BMDS (Ballistic Missile Defense System). You can also bet there are some components of this that are NOT public. (Russia has a version of this too, by the way).... China, oddly, has only a very limited system (but they have the easier job, like Russia, of protecting only a few vital targets)...

To really get an inbound to actually detonate over a target (and modern nukes are airburst weapons, meaning way less fallout), a foe would have to launch a pretty good number of missiles to get penetration to target.
