A guy in Germany disarmed 4 police officers. I have no idea how that could happen unless the police are completely incompetent

Way I read it is he was armed with a pistol, and they surrendered their weapons to him.
Could be wrong though.

Hand them over when alive OR have them taken AFTER they are dead. Pretty darn simple choice to me. The four cops are still alive, so good choice.
