For me:

Antibiotic Ointment (to prevent infection)
Butterfly closures, medical tape, super glue (for closing wounds and holding them closed)
Band-aids, gauze pads, larger gauze pads (for absorbing bleeding, preventing more damage to the area)
Alcohol pads (for cleaning wounds)
Scissors (for cutting clothes, medical tape)
Tweezers (removing stingers, splinters)
Duct Tape (in a pinch, holds things together)
Pain Killers (both OTC and serious ones)

Anything else is just gravy.....

I also like to include:

Cold and Flu meds
Variety and specialized band-aids
Snake bite kit
Insect repellent and sting medicine
Sunscreen
Forceps
Israeli bandage
Stitching thread

You can get a pill fob for like 2 bucks at the dollar store and it is water proof.

Downside to those is that over time, the pills will shift, turn to powder, etc. I just get little trial-sizes of OTC meds.
For prescription meds, just wrap a dose in a small piece of aluminum foil. Added bonus, mark on the foil to code what they are, if you have many. Then, just put them in an empty pill bottle. If you do use a pill case, just use cotton balls to keep them from all moving around a lot, and it will prevent most of the powder bit happening.
