This is a shooting related question. I have electronic ear muffs for sound suppression. Actually, they amplify faint sounds so they are very nice to have walking through a forest, for instance. But will these be durable enough for long, hard use in a SHTF world? I personally hate earplugs, they never seem to fit or work well. What do you guys think?

Depends on how long. I've got a set of Sordins I've had for 12+ years that I have abused the hell out of, and that are still going strong. NRR isn't the greatest, but ample for shooting

I've got OTTO Noizebarrier Micros I' worn almost daily for a bit over a year. Excellent NRR.

And finally, I have a set of Ops Core Amps I've had for about 6 months. I have no doubt they will last several years, and the NRR is also excellent. The sound quality is also amazing. Then again, you tend to get what you pay for.
