It seems that most people think about, bullet's, beans, and band aids. The latest knife, firearm, backpack...You better start thinking about your dental health now! If you know any thing about contract work out of CONUS then you know you have to have a dental certificate, for the same our military spends so much on dental health. First if you ever had a cavity, abscess, or tooth trauma you are on the page I am speaking of.
Brushing for two minuets even w/out tooth past will go a long way to prevent gum disease. No tooth paste use baking soda, no tooth brush use a green oak, maple twigg... fray then end and brush with this.
A person with a bad tooth/teeth will not be able to preform. That's not to mention that the infection can cause, bacteria enter your stomach & blood stream and can cause heart problems as well as staphylococcus which is now a stemic problem.
Then do you have the materials to repair a cap or lost filling. Check out ART dentistry! ( A.traumatic R.estoration T.treatment)! Also so many peoples favorite place to shop, yup you guest it! W-mart, even CVS, Walgreens or your corner store may have dental repair kits! Please don't do the age old thing of putting an aspirin on the tooth, this acetylsalicylic ACID, this can destroy the tooth. Aspirin, naproxen, tylenol, are all ANSIDS as well as analgesics. And may help with the pain of swelling and pain.
Eugenol/ clove oil will help for temporary relief. A more permanent fix is a mixture of eugenol and Zink Oxide filling.
For infection the preferred antibiotic is penicillin VK, for those of you who have PCN allergies the drug of choice to many Dentists may be Doxicycline or one of the mycins.

10-4 doc pops......sound advice, all should pay heed............some studies link poor dental health to heart disease.

gurgling saltwater regularly after meals... including after the SHF (assuming you still have enough salt and water), helps keep the bacteria that cause tooth decay at bay a bit.
