yup, ain't Catholic, but when a pope says Islam is the religion of peace it kinda does hit my ear wrong...
I was raised Catholic. Altar boy (before the pedophiles back in the late 50s), Catholic school, the whole nine yards. The drift toward world control socialism over the decades has been shocking. The church has become more about leftist politics than about Christianity. I remember going to Sunday mass back in the 80s when I read the church bulletin after mass I found it was advocating complete nuclear disarmament by America as an example for world peace.... NOTHING about the USSR disarming as well. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Since then my religion as been private and personal, between just me and the Big Fella

The Second Vatican Council (1962) made the "smoke of Satan" enter the Church.
None of the following popes stopped this, only slowed down a few, but with serious errors.
With Bergoglio they finally showed their true face.

The Catholic Church certainly has given up God’s Word. I find it disheartening. Attended the Catholic Church for some years myself. Am Southern Baptist now.

My mom was just asking me to search the forum for soap making! 😂
Off the soap topic, what are everyone’s thoughts about school? I know many of you already have adult children but mine are 5 and 7. My 5 yr old has asthma, sleep apnea, and is scheduled for adenoids removal august 11. I made sure to stock up on his steroids and rescue inhalers when all this started but here in San Antonio, schools appear to be opening back up regularly in august. Our isd has given the option for distance learning but my ex husband is fighting me and thinks they should go back for face to face learning.

We are also in SA (NEISD). My child had bronchopulmonary dysplasia as a child and still has asthma. His pulmonologist made the decision very easy for us. She drew a pic of a classroom with 10 kids, then added all the family members that live with the kids...that's the actual minimum number of people in the classroom. You can add even more if any of those parents or siblings work somewhere that's very populated. My son will be learning online for the foreseeable future.

I'd rather be safe than lose my child. Isn't that the point of prepping??
Yes it is. Be sure to consider all things that may harm your child though. Lack of interaction is harming kids severely and leading to deaths also. How long are you willing to keep them from interacting with friends? One year, two, 10?

Lack of interaction is more harmful than a (what percent chance?) of catching COVID for children. Also it sounds like the child is a sever risk person. Would the common flu also be a deadly risk? If not, why not? If so, have they never been to school or outside during flu season?

#1 priority is protecting your child, but you have to let them live not just stay alive IMO. Don't let fear from the HYPE cause you to make irrational decisions (not saying your's is)... knowing the facts is the beginning of being able to make an informed decision.

about that,it's somewhat hysterical here, if a kid sneeze or have some snot in the nose, kindergarten personal calls the parent and the kid has to go home....and take a covid test, which again here means a parent has to stay home and away from work, in worst case, almost two weeks, yup, there is a slight delay in testing here..in many cases it seems the kindergartens have found a way to cut the head count by this, thus less work for them..

don't know what happened to the testing capacity,it was up to standard before summer, now it's to shits again, perhaps the management thought this would go over and cut back on lab techs and other personel, now it has to be built up again...
and a kid gettin' the covid is very remote and most times if gotten, just like a mild flu.

The flu is a concern for him, but the vaccine helps to some degree. I know it isn't foolproof (he got the flu last Spring), but he gets stronger every year. This year his symptoms only lasted 2 days.

As for social interaction, there are still enough kids in our neighborhood whose families are following our same path that he's been able to socialize and stay in good spirits. I know it's going to get harder. Finding accurate info on the virus is a constant struggle, but I do it every day. I can only prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Thx!

It is hard to find the accurate info on the virus through all the bullcrap that's poured out to the world every day.

The virus is man-made 100% certain.
A vaccine will not work and will be harmful 99% certain.

There are numerous extremely successful treatments for the virus that work against the virus that cost almost nothing that's being suppressed by big pharma, governments and the Democratic party. 100% certain.

I'm suspicious of the money from making the vaccine otherwise why would Eastman Kodak involve its self in manufacturing a vaccine, it took a 765 million loan from the Feds specificly for the vaccine. Too much money involve and to many entities involved in the manufacturing for my comfort, no body takes a 765 million loan and not expect a hefty return!
