UK death toll rises to over 1000 now, The Prime minister and three senior government mionisters have been infected with Corona

The Lockdown is getting farsical with some police forces chasing people for travelling to empty rural wilderness areas to exercise alone whilst neighbouring forces are chasing people out of town centers telling them to go and exercise in wilderness areas.

Crime and criminal damage is rising fast and fines for being outdoors without good reason are being issued

Idiots who DELIBERATELY cough on foodstuffs, shop staff, health workers and police saying " they are infected" are being arrested and charged with assault.

Food shortages continue as does panic buying though severe constraints on numbers of customer and social distancing are becoming ever more rigoursly enforced.

An emergency 4000 bed military field hospital is being set up in central London

20,000 UK troops mobilised

Oil prices have collapsed but fuel prices have not fallen.

depends on what one drives I suppose, even before the lockdown my 1200cc MPV was only using about £10 worth of fuel a week. and that included travelling up to a 50 mile round trip to access a supermarket, at the moment we are using the local corner shop and using almost no fuel at all.

We are also using almost no gas at the moment, we fill the tank with 60 liters and can use it almost 6 weeks. The price here has dropped from € 1.46 down to €1.16. Lowest price I have seen in 6 years. Keep the tanks full anyway, if the price war between Russia and Saudis goes bad, the price will pull up again...GP

I have the 60 lt. tank in the car, 70 in the cellar and whatever I could find underway. I only wanted to make it to my BOL. With the borders closed...forget it now. Just want to disappear into mountains/valleys if the city gets to hard to defend. It would take me about 2 hours to get 1/2 a ton of food into the camper trailer and bug-out. But the comfort of running water, toilet, electricity and such would be missed. Long term camping combined with hunting and security??? Alone??? The wife would not be happy...GP

Looking at comparing the recorded deaths in England and Wales for this corona virus period compared to previous years. I know things hadn't really kicked off virus wise until March but interestingly deaths in February are down on the previous year. Here is a link to the data.

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...guresondeathsregisteredbyareaofusualresidence

Main points from latest release
  • The provisional number of deaths registered in England and Wales in February 2020 was 43,653; this represents a decrease of 13,053 deaths in comparison with the previous month and a decrease of 2,143 deaths in comparison with the same month in 2019.

  • Moveable public holidays and the number of weekends, when register offices are closed, affect the number of registrations made in the published months and in the corresponding months in previous years.

  • Local authorities’ codes and names have been updated to reflect the changes that occurred in April 2019.

  • The decrease in deaths registered in February 2020 is likely to reflect a return to a more usual level of death registrations; this pattern is similar to previous years.

I eagerly await the March data to see if this virus really is just killing off the sick and old.

I have said long before this pandemic struck that the only option in a disease outbreak is self isolation.
cutting off contact with other people is the only way to stop getting it.
15 year old in Portugal has just died of it so its ALL ages.

Do you have a way to camouflage your camper using hunters netting and cut limbs once you get there? It may not fake out someone who is close by, but maybe but buy you some time from being discovered and you can get the upper hand. Just a thought.

I am not saying this isn't a deadly illness. I am not saying don't isolate, (I'm isolating) I am just questioning wether or not the government measures are proportionate to the problem. I am trying to keep an open mind and use data.

I see where you are coming from mate :), but have you also considered we in the UK have to make extra effort as we are the highest densly populated country in europe, We literally often live on top of each other.

Yes, there are lots of small downed trees there, it is below a flat field and in a ravine which is closed on one end. I would paint it with brown and green instead of the white and silver, cover the sides with mud and throw moss and grass bushels with dirt still in the roots on the roof. The dirt will kill the warmth emanitating from the roof of the trailer if you heat in winter. An extended exhaust pipe on the heater chimney which has cooling wings or rings will slow down the production of steam from the heater in colder days also. The exhaust has more time to cool down then. The trees will change the outline and cover it also.
Branches will be cut from the same type of surrounding trees but not from the same place. That would make a cleaned out area which will also give you away. They must be cut from somewhere further away and drug in and also changed out for fresh ones as they start getting older and wilt or fade to brown. You must use alternative walking in routes so that a visible "trail" which would give your position away does not become visible. Never take the same way in more that 2-3 times, watch for broken limbs, footprints or such which give a signature of your presence. Let the grass stand back up again before you come in the same way again. Anything which can reflect is painted flat black or even screwed off, windows are covered with material which can be moved to let light in or cover them. The toilet will be still used with a 12 V battery and solar charged and the LED lights are also 12 V. I have 3 bottles of propane, one 6 kg and 2 X 11 kg. All cooking is done with the doors and windows closed so the good smells cannot be detected by strangers. Oil the doors well so they do not squeak at all. The emptying of the toilet must be well away from the hideout, buried well and camo is needed also there. The smell can carry a long way, no soap or shampoo, deodorant or perfumes allowed. The smell carries too far. (Unscented soap or homemade from sand, lye out of the ashes and a bit of lard)
Lots to think about and plan, start now to get things together if possible. Camo is the only way to not be seen, smelled or heard. Strict rules of light and sound, especially at night, all lighting is green, blue or red to not carry far if you or someone opens a door and forgot to turn it off beforehand. Questions? Take notes and remember...Gary

A major review of British foreign policy has been shelved due to the Covid-19 outbreak and will not report until the impact of the virus can be assessed. A Government source close to the review said: 'It is going to be back to the diplomatic drawing board after this. Rethink is an understatement.'

Another source said: 'There has to be a reckoning when this is over.' Yet another added: 'The anger goes right to the top.'

China also contributed to the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) desperately needed by Britain's doctors, nurses and other health professionals. At the height of the epidemic in Wuhan and surrounding Hubei province, Chinese leaders commandeered vast amounts of PPE, made in factories across China and destined for export.

UK safety equipment firm JSP had its two factories in China 'requisitioned by the government to make disposable RPE [respiratory protection equipment] for Chinese government agencies', according to a letter its chief executive Mark Johnstone sent to customers on February 3.

In addition, Chinese state-backed operatives working abroad were directed to bulk-buy medical supplies from Western countries.

Tory MP Tom Tugendhat said: 'Beijing is masking the greatest health emergency in a century and the cost of this deceit is global.'

I don't fault China for commandeering the PPE supplies. If the tables were turned, I would hope out government would do the same. I don't think they did wrong by bulk buying of PPE supplies. What I do fault them for is hiding the problem in the first place and then all the lies that followed. This has been awake up call to all the world. Take back your critical manufacturing.

My wife has been working for the Ferdinand Menrad Group since 1986 in customer service. She worked with 14,000 Opticians in 16 countries and spoke to them in 4 different languages doing so. The FMG was the best known and best run producer of glasses, sunglasses in Germany. Porsche, Guess, Rayban, Who and such names.
After the owner and founder died, his two son-in-laws disputed over the future of the company. They ended up splitting it up, one eventually went bankrupt and ruining 50% of a 129 year old company, the other has reduced the co. into a 49%German/51% Chinese pile of **** and laid off over 60% of the oldtimers. All looked good with the cheaper production in china till one day, the chinese decided that it was NOT FAIR that THEIR citizens work for only pennies compared to the German earnings and forced the German side of the co. (only 49%) to immediately start paying 400% more wages to the chinese workers...(Why not the chinese with 51% pay more there???)
Now you see how the chinese work with OUR technology, knowledge, research, development and money. Take it for free, use it at will and demand more...if you want to compare it to your daily life, think like this: Your bank account has $5000,00 on it, your daughter and son, your sister and brother, your wife and her sister all have a credit cards for the same bank account...HOW MUCH CONTROL DO YOU HAVE OVER YOUR $5000,00????? Live free, Gary
