I always sucked at meteorology in school... heck, I can't even remember how to spell it!50 years in NYS. Never saw sky’s like that. Seen them way too often in CA, but i have been much closer to the fire.
Never seen prevailing wind from the northeast except for a nor’easter storm For a couple days.
The reported acreage should not be putting out that smoke.

But, now that I think of it, I think there was some reason why nor'easters never last long, right? This time it's just sitting over the midwest. The forecast I watched on why the midwest would be in a long drought tried to give an explaination why this would be, but I turned my ears off at that point.
