We had a lot of company here today. First thing this morning we had deer and elk in the front yard, then a herd of wild turkeys came through the yard followed by a couple coyotes. The turkeys like to hang out in the orchard eating the green grass. They just now left the orchard. I think they're roosting somewhere close by.
Whenever the turkeys come around the chickens all run back to the coop and hide.
There's no shortage of food on the "hoof" around here.

That’s the way my morning went. A flock of 25 turkey on the back hillside. A nice little buck came up from the road and is bedded 30 ft from the house. A covey of quail went running by as I was watching him. I’ll see the elk a little closer to mating time.

As all of you who follow the chat messages know we have been dealing with bulls getting out recently. We did have a couple uneventful days thru the week, but today was one of those not good days again. Both boys broke out. I saw Charlie coming down the big lane and heard Big Ben in the neighbors yard once again, At this point hunny and I are just fighting again. . . Not something I like at all. All these bull problems didn't start until he decided to get rid of 7 girls at both pastures involved all at once, They did bring in $4035 in the auction house is what hunny told me tonight. Basically 6 cows and 1 very small calf. The guy who was hired to transport took a liking to a couple of our cows and especially the calf, but that pair got out of his price range.

Hunny keeps blaming Claire on calling the boys out of their back pasture, . . . So It is basically her fault now that he took so many playmates away from the boys. . .

I'm done now and basically sacrificed my girl. Hoping the smaller bull gets her verses Charlie. Hunny says I just wasn't ready for her to get pregnant. . . NO! I was just not ready with the bulls we have now. My consern is the baby calf will have to get pulled. Not something that we have had to deal with before, but we never experienced a breech birth before Sissy. Both survived and are still thriving.

Hi there. For some reason I'm just now seeing this about Ham Radio. I'll have to look at the thread layout.

Heck I've been around ham radio since I was 2 months old, married a ham, and have one daughter, one son-in-law and 4 of their kiddos as ham radio operators. And when Dad passed, I adopted his call to keep it in the family.
