If the US gets involved in a hot war with Russia, I envision a nuclear warhead EMP detonated over America will knock out our electrical and electronic infrastructure.
I think a cyber-attack would be way more likely. ANY missile or any sort lobbed our way would receive a full ICBM response from any US administration. (Yes, they could disrupt the US Internet with ease.) I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
"the internet" is pretty decentralized. It was built to maintain communications in case of nuclear attack. But centralized services - like credit card companies, corporate inventory systems, whatever. Those might have trouble if certain points on the internet are taken out for a time.
Of course there is starlink now so you have to factor that in.
