I am look for a good gas mask.l don't think I would surplus New or used .It May cost more but I think there are a few companies that make gas masks available to the public and are a lot safer then military surplus mask . I can't remember the names of the manufacturer s I will let you know when I found out . gas mask are low on my prep.list now so I have not looked in to it I know I would not trust my life on surplus mask . unless it was current U.S issue
