Just a note. As an HF antenna, I've been using a design I've been using for 25 years, (I've built a couple) . It.s a home-brew fan dipole which cost me about 30.00 to build and I get 9 bands and world wide with it. I have plans with pictures I can e-mail or snail- mail if anyone is interested . For my portable operation I find the 20 meter inverted vee antenna is about the best compromise. Out in central New Mexico sometimes trees are hard to find so I use the GI fiberglass camo support poles for a center support. Neat thing about a wire antenna, everything just rolls up and you can put it in a small backpack. de KA5SIW
