I tried to befriend him. I was curious about about Russia, other than what we were taught. I guess the first warning sign when he proudly claimed to be from the USSR. Although he denied it, it seemed he was more interested in hate than than prepping.

Like the two workers in Siberia who took a break and one called out: "come here, I got some moonshine!"
The other worker whispers: "not so loud...they might hear you"...the first one comes back...
"Yeah, and, where are they gonna do? send me to Siberia or something???

needs to get back on track - and it's Friday discussion day ....

something camping oriented common with RVers around the campfire are "sandwich makers" >>>> Fire Pie Trail Store ~ Cast Iron Pudgy Pie Makers, Sandwich Cookers, Bread Makers, Brat Irons, & Campfire Waffle Irons ~ The Original Fire Pie Company

definitely a need during serious SHTFs for some quiky low profile cooking methods - a campfire could be bad enough - a cast iron pan cooking up grub will only compound the danger ...

and there's allll kinds of recipes out there for a 3 course meal >>>>>>

You two are a good example of the cup half empty, the cup half full
Have you ever thought about that phrase, where it came from? We pick up these sayings, these beliefs and parrot them without question, but on closer inspection most of the modern ones are a total crock of rubbish. This one is an example and it came from the finance industry most likely. It's great psychology to use on people to get them sucked into buying houses, shares and bitcoins at bubble tops.

When is the glass half full? Obviously when it is being filled.
When is the glass half empty. Obviously when it's being drained.

Now look around at our western societies and financial markets, at the quality of behavior of our fellow citizens -consumers- and ask the question. Is the glass being filled or drained? I'll answer it. It's being drained of all goodness and filled with all evil.

What about Psalm 23...My cup runneth over
I've always thought of the half empty as being pessimism and half full as being optimism

if you liken it to fuel I always top up my petrol tank when it gets to half, sometimes even when its threequarters full depends where I'm going.
same with gear I never buy just one of something I always buy multiples.

The cup is full.

Take a cup half way filled with water. Put a piece of plastic wrap and seal it.
Then turn it over.
The cup is half full of water, half full of air.

The cup is full.
