did I strike a nerve,,,,,,,,,,,,,electric cars are not affordable and will not do the job of a gas powered truck......................this idiotic crap you are talking will put people out of work and cause long lines at the welfare office......it will not happen in your great grand children's lifetime

No you would have to be much smarter to strike a nerve, YES I know it will cause financial chaos and misery and recession and massive unemployment, and I am as hostile to it as you, But that does not mean it wont happen, ITS HAPPENING IN EUROPE. Hell on Bidens first day in office he cancelled that huge pipeline not caring he is putting THOUSANDS out of work. INSANITY. AOC wants air travel for liesure banning INSANITY, They want to build thousands more WIND TURBINEs even after seeing the fiasco in Texas but that has not stopped them INSANITY. THEY not ME simply care only for their IDEOLOGY be it Environment idiocy or Socialist Doctrine. Some green nutcases in the US want to OUTLAW wood burning stoves, millions of american rely on wood stoves for heat and hot water BUT the left says they release toxic particulates and must be banned. INSANITY. Again its NOT ME its the Far left and loonatic greens like AOC , Harris etc

AOCs
Most Americans won't comply to all this green government overreach.

Good and rightly so, BUT it will not stop the loony left socialists and green extremists, as seen over this side of the Atlantic they are relentless. BTW hows the Wind turbines and Gas Pipeline doing...... Oh wait the former doesnt work and the latter has been cancelled by the left.

Just imagined what would happen in Switzerland if i try to safe my properties with an gun... LMAO
Threat of a thief with a weapon - fines or jail. With an loaded weapon or not registeret one the fine would be higher or your time-out in jail a lot longer.
Blessing an thief in any case, not matter if it's with an weapon or you knock him out - fines or jail plus you're invitet to pay curing coasts and compensation.
Kill an thief and you will stay for a few years in the jail.

The only we can do is running away and calling the police. They will comes if the danger is over and they collected enough speeding tickets (less work and more money).
it's a shame when the criminals have more protection under the law than the honest man.........you are living in the wrong country

It the kind of liberal and "don't hurt anyones unicorn" politics which we have in Europe and which you're able to enjoy with your new president...
Well, i'm swiss and i'm living in Switzerland - for me it's the right country even i disagree with a lot of things. Until now i can handle it, if i can't handle it anymore then i would choose another place to stay.

Biden interior pick on Dakota Access Pipeline shutdown: 'If something shuts down, then jobs can be lost,
President Biden's nominee for interior secretary, Democratic New Mexico Rep. Debra Haaland, on Wednesday conceded that shutting down the Dakota Access Pipeline would cost jobs during her confirmation hearing.

Haaland was answering a question from Republican North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven, who asked Haaland whether the economic consequences of a potential Dakota Access Pipeline shut down would be "devastating," noting that the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation receives tax revenue from the pipeline.

BIDEN HALTING DAKOTA ACCESS PIPELINE WILL INCREASE TRANSPORTATION COSTS, SD FARMER SAYS

Haaland said she "doesn't know the specificity of every job" that could be lost if the Dakota Access Pipeline project is shut down, but said she would be "more than dedicated to being briefed on that issue" if confirmed.

"If something shuts down, then jobs can be lost, and I understand that, so thank you for sharing that with me," she said when Hoeven pressed her on the issue.

We don't have wind turbines, we booted out the possibility recently. Signs everywhere. Texas was stupid, but they have time to correct it.
I guess people from any country will put up with stuff till it gets too bad to put up with.
Our country will not allow the abolishment of 2A. That's the line here.

Well, they're going to get away with taking your cars away in Europe because no one can really own a gun there without a hassle, and they've convinced your people that guns are bad and always kill people.
It's not going to happen in the US anytime soon, because first they'll have to take away all guns, then they can take away all the cars. If they take away guns, there will absolutely be a division of states, and then there will be a civil war. I do believe there will be higher prices on guns and ammo (already is), and higher prices on cars, too. The red states will have to put their foot down and build their own cars. And not electric ones. Those are stupid.
So, regarding rifles in London....I can go to the rifle store and buy one and buy some ammo, bring it home and keep it in my bedroom near my bed, and if some bad guy breaks in, I can shoot him? If he yells, I'm coming in to kill you, I can shoot him? If he has a knife, do I have to drop the rifle and go find a knife like his, then I can defend myself? Or is my rifle not kept in my home, but only at the local gun club somewhere out of the city where I can only remove it for hunting? Or can I keep it at home, but only locked up in a safe with a gun lock on the gun, so I have to remember my combo and be government inspected? You know, guns rights in our country "shall not be infringed". Idiots like those in Chicago that get shot rolled over for their local liberal government. Not going to happen in most of America.
California, New Mexico, New York, Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois, Washington..... they can roll over all they want. They are the brokest, most violent, most liberal states we have. They do have pockets of normal human beings out of the cities, though. All governments are going to get away with whatever they think they can get away with.
Do not comply. Our rights were given to us by God, not by our government. Texas will now attest to electric cars are a total sham. They couldn't charge them, couldn't drive them. Agenda 21 Agenda 2030 is alive and well and is being instituted in Europe. You couldn't pay me to be there.
In Montana if someone breaks into your house and you feel threatened. They give up all their rights. even their right to life.

I think that the controversy about greenhouse gasses from motor vehicles will soon be a moot point.

Porsche is working on manufacturing synthetic gasoline from things like algae, bacteria, and so forth. This technology has existed since before WWII, but the only problem is that gasolibe from crude oil is cheaper.

What needs to happen is that the process is made cheaper than crude oil, and then everyone can have their cake and eat it too (except for the oil company people who will be out of a job).

This synthetic gasoline will even be better for most engines, as there are less impurities to gunk up the engine . . . so, theoretically, cars will require less maintenence.

I'm all for this, if only so we can tell the middle east where they can stick their oil, and cut off the profits that they use to finance terrorism.

Things like this are done now, as the Chinese tallow tree can be used to profitably manufacture biological diesel fuel. The tallow tree is an invasive species in the USA, as 40% of the trees around Houston, Texas, are Chinese tallow trees.

Thank you for the education. I learned or was taught that the Swiss were the bastion of freedom in Europe.
Fiercely independent, never surrendered. Great skiing. Great place to stash cash. At least one thing I am learning from this website is many things that I thought were true, are not.

Compared with other european countries we're still little bit more free. But we're having an internal dispute you will not read about somewhere really. Our federal council would like to become an member of the EU - but not the citizens. So they try to please the EU whenever it's possible. Otherwise the EU gives a lot of pressure to our country which brings us at the end to the point our government toke over a lot of EU-laws. About all the corona restrictions we have and the way how our federal council is acting and deciding the parliament started to discuss an way how the council can be replaced with an kind of impeachment. Until now it wasn't possible, once they were elected for 4 years they stay.
We swiss didn't forgot about our history, especially in the mountains. But the whole corona crisis showed up where our internal problems are and many citizens realised they are bigger than aspected and my meaning is there will come a few changes in future. Hopefully in the good way. But Switzerland is still an relative secure country and except a few places in the big cities you still can go out at nighttime without having fear to be an victims of criminals.
As we swiss still keep our hands in our pockets and complaining it's all fine. But you need to take care if we stop complaining. And when we're taking our hands out of the pockets then you better hide - then we go and grab our pitchforks to clean up ;)
