Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has introduced a bill that would ban the sale, transfer, manufacture and importation of 205 specific models of rifles and firearms she dubbed ''military-style assault weapons'' and require existing weapons to stored in a ''secure gun storage.'' Feinstein Bill Bars 205 Rifles, Firearms by Name

Feinstein’s bill comes after the House passed two gun-control measures largely along party lines, one which expands background checks on virtually any firearm and another which would expand the waiting period to at least 10 days and give the FBI the authority to delay the purchase indefinitely.

''It’s been 17 years since the original Assault Weapons Ban expired, and the plague of gun violence continues to grow in this country,'' Feinstein said in a release on her website. ''To be clear, this bill saves lives.''

The bill, which has 34 co-sponsors — all Democrats and self-declared democratic socialist Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. — would ''grandfather'' existing weapons but provide money to states for ''buyback'' programs. The legislation also would ban ammunition magazines that carry more than 10 rounds, similar to laws in New York and California

The companion House bill was introduced in the lower chamber by David Cicilline, D-R.I.

The website bearingarms.com claims that the bill ''would still make the most commonly-sold centerfire rifles in the United States off-limits to future buyers, as well as imposing a ban on the most commonly-owned ammunition magazines in the country as well.''

The National Shooting Sports Federation indicates there are more than 20 million modern sporting rifles in the United States.

Feinstein can propose new things all she wants. Doesn't make it happen, and no one but bay area Californians will follow. But bay are Californians don't have any guns anyway. She does stuff like this to be popular, while her body guards are armed to the teeth. She's sold old, she made Ginsberg look like a little sis.
I was just reading that Oklahoma has decided that they are exempt from any of Biden's executive orders. I think that's a good idea.

The madness started when uninformed ignorant voters continue to elect communist hacks like Feinstein and Biteme, AKA democrats.

Yes you are right BUT old friend that sad, terrifying and tragic fact is that about HALF of america has voted for the Dems.

House Democrats fired the first two shots on Biden-approved legislation Thursday that purport to—but don’t—address gun violence. And they each received Republican support.

The first, H.R. 8, which would require background checks on the great majority of private transfers of firearms, was approved 227-203. Eight Republicans joined the Democrats:

  • Vern Buchanan of Florida
  • Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
  • Andrew Garbarino of New York
  • Carlos A. Giménez of Florida
  • Adam Kinzinger of Illinois
  • Maria Salazar of Florida
  • Chris Smith of New Jersey
  • Fred Upton of Michigan

A single Democrat voted against the bill — Jared Golden of Maine.

The second bill, H.R. 1446, would extend the time the government has to make "instant" background checks from three days to 10. The House approved it 219-210, with two Republicans joining Democrats: Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania and Chris Smith of New Jersey.

Democratic Reps. Ron Kind of Wisconsin and Golden, again, voted against the legislation.

Both bills sound innocuous on their face. Who can be against more background checks? Three days or 10, what’s the difference?

Both measures appear to be minor inconveniences and a small price to pay in exchange for saving lives and keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals.

But they do neither.

Criminals don’t go to their local sporting goods store to purchase firearms. They either steal them or buy them on the street from another criminal. And the street vendors aren’t going to bother with background checks — after all, they’re criminals.

Instead, Democrats (and the handful of misguided Republicans) want to inconvenience law-abiding citizens.

The Average Joe selling a gun to a friend doesn’t have access to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which means they’ll have to ask a local firearm dealer to run the check. And he won’t do it for free.

Granted, it probably won’t amount to more than $25 to $30, but it’s still an added expense and an added hassle.

Referring to a recent Morning Consult poll indicating that 84% of Americans support universal background checks, Bearing Arms editor Cam Edwards had a few questions for that overwhelming majority.

"Do 84-percent of Americans think a person should go to federal prison if they transfer a firearm to their neighbor who’s afraid of her abusive ex showing up at her door?" he asked. "Do 84-percent of Americans think that it should be a crime to sell a gun to your cousin without a background check, but legal for you to sell a gun to your aunt without one?"

Edwards concluded, "I highly doubt it, but that’s exactly what H.R. 8 would require if it were to become law."

As it now stands, most "instant" background checks are exactly that — instant. If the FBI can’t conduct it within the 3-day limit (which is rare) the benefit of the doubt goes to the buyer, and he gets to take the gun home. After all, he willingly submitted his name into the system.

The new 10-day limit doesn’t work that way. If the FBI can’t conduct the check within 10 days, it can ask for another 10-day extension, then another, and another until the buyer gives up.

And just like with the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, Democrats didn’t want to hear from their colleagues across the aisle.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, shared a provision that Democrats refused to include in the legislation.

"House Democrats just REJECTED an amendment that would have required ICE to be notified if an illegal immigrant tries to buy a gun," he tweeted. “But they’re fine taking away the gun rights of law-abiding American citizens.”

NRA spokeswoman Erica Tergeson told Newsmax TV’s "American Agenda" Thursday that H.R. 8 can only be enforced through "registration of every single firearm in America," which may be the real goal.

Turning Point USA spokeswoman Alex Clark agreed, adding that universal registration always leads to confiscation. "Don’t do it," she implored. "Just stop!"

Tergeson also observed that when the bills arrive at the Senate, "it’s really about maintaining the filibuster." She added that the Democratic-controlled House is sending "as many bills as possible" to the Senate in order to convince it to dump the filibuster.

The Senate’s filibuster rule requires 60 votes to end debate and vote on a bill — unless it’s a tax or spending provision, which only requires a simple majority.

Our most basic freedoms—speech, press, religion, and assembly—are guaranteed under the First Amendment.

Observers say that the Second Amendment, which guarantees the right to keep and bear arms, is in place to protect the rights under the First.

The freedoms of speech, press, and religion are increasingly under attack. And now they’re after the Second — the enforcer?

Like Clark said, "Just stop!"

Isnt Socialism Wonderful.

Isnt Socialism Wonderful.

Every American that believes in the Constitution needs to ignore this bogus law.

It begins evenly in such a way, laws against weapon possession coming creeping and in no, to first one forbids certain weapon types and magazines, then everything becomes Meldepflichtig that the authorities know where there is what to get in a few years, and then the screw is tightened every two to 4 years more and the laws tightened.
The authorities will justify this with the argument, protection of women, protection of children, protection for uninvolved. What the authorities but NEVER say that the really bad guys are never affected by gun laws because against the black market is never proceeded, the gun law disarms in the end only the decent citizen that he can no longer protect themselves from terrorists.

What you are starting in the USA now has been going on in Europe for about 20 years, it's called "Schengen" and it's getting harder and harder to justify as a shooter or as a gun owner. If you don't stop the coming gun laws you will be disarmed, not today but in 5 to 10 years.

The dems need to be concerned with the ones that didn't vote for Biden.
Anyone can propose a stupid law. Most are not passed. And if stupid ones are passed, then they have been ignored.
So the title of this discussion is misleading....gun bans are not starting all over America. Good luck with that.

PS
If you haven't read about what happened at Ruby Ridge or WACO, do so. I don't think the Feds want another one of those events. Too many Americans are ticked off.

How many Feds died at Waco / Ruby ridge etc and how many citizens died? the Feds will do what ever they want cos they have the biggest stick. And after watching events in DC in january I dont think for one second the people will ever rise up, no matter how many guns they have.

Yes you are right BUT old friend that sad, terrifying and tragic fact is that about HALF of america has voted for the Dems.
Half the US population receives some form of government handout now days. They will never vote for a canidate that proposes to cut their "free" stuff. Another problem that nobody talks about is the 18 year old vote. Most 18 year olds are dumb enough to vote for more socialist ideas.

if you rob Peter to pay Paul you can always be sure of Pauls support. And every few hours another 1000 Pauls cross the Rio Grande or places like Detroit realise Uncle Joe keeps giving you Peters money.

Sleeping Jo will send the immigrants to the Red States and play your majority to break the Red States. If you want independence you have to do it now, if the population is subverted by another culture first, the project for independence becomes harder every day.
Jo is guaranteed to make your life as difficult as possible, he probably hates everyone who didn't vote for him.

Hey Brent, this is what "common sense" gun control looks like. You must be proud of your democrat friends.
Some of em are Republicans

“Senate Democrats Introduce New Gun Control Bill – Requires DOJ License for Gun Purchases with a 5-Year License Limit – And Government Power of Confiscation

Senate Democrats on Thursday introduced an ambitious new gun control legislation that would require all Americans to obtain a Department of Justice (DOJ) license with a 5-year limit before purchasing a single gun. The new bill would also give the government the power to confiscate guns if the license is revoked.

This new legislation was introduced by Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn).

According to the bill’s text, the license issued would “be valid for the purchase of a single firearm.” It’s unclear if additional gun purchases would require an entirely new license, or if they are allowed at all.

The bill also authorizes “procedures to ensure that any firearm is removed from any individual when the individual’s license is revoked.” Confiscated firearms would only be returned to the owner if the license is reinstated.

The Attorney General could deny a license for numerous reasons, including if the applicant has a “history of drug or alcohol abuse,” has “any recent acquisition of firearms, ammunition, or other deadly weapons,” or has a “history of unsafe storage or handling of firearms.”

Additionally, the legislation would make it illegal for “any individual to sell or otherwise dispose of a firearm to a person” unless they report the exchange to the Attorney General.”

Were I a senator, I submit the same bill but I’d do a find (firearm) and replace (vote) for the entirety of the text.

Somehow this has evaded my searches of the federal register. Found a reference to it yesterday.
I have posted a page from Federal register here before. Why I can’t now? Mmmm.
Why the screen shoot goes black? Double Mmmmmm.

Its almost like the ATF has amended the Congressional Gun Control Act. (can they do that?). And they don’t want word getting out until it takes place.

More signs of what is to come.

A buddy of mine in high school died during the Waco incident.
He was one of those who tried to enter through the second story window from the first floor roof.
What a waste...
They could have picked up Koresh at the local hardware store where he was a frequent customer and all of those kids wouldnt have died.
