the express is a British national daily paper, its slightly right wing in its reporting but its correspondents are usually spot on. this report does not surprise me, the EU is getting more dictatorial every day and dosent like people with opinions that aren't in line with their rules. one reason why a lot of UK voters want to leave.

What we call "freedom of speech" does not exist in Europe. So none of this surprises me. Look at what they're doing to "Tommy Robinson". In other countries in Europe, citizens have been arrested for comments about muslims and islam. It's ok to say the exact same thing about Christians, but don't you dare talk about muslims that way.

Europe is lost. Sad.

Too many places have their own brand of tyranny. In the EU it tends to be disguised as "progressive" guarantees of all sorts of "rights" that are better described as entitlements.

Human rights are determined by society, not by a force of arms (laws and intimidation). Laws simply force dissenters to go underground but do not change the resentment. Social acceptance makes the changes real. JM2C
