there is a plaque in the EU building in Brussels which reads: " national sovereignty is the root cause of the most crying EVILS of our times. the only final remedy for this evil is the FEDERAL UNION of the peoples". I expect they said something similar back in 1939.

yes they did, only the Nazis called it the Final SOLUTION not remedy, that was in relation to the Jews.
 
I doubt very much that things will go further than talk.
Even on the basis of the information available on Wikipedia, it becomes clear that the armies of most EU countries are ceremonial rather than present a fighting force about the moral readiness of the EU population to kill and die on the battlefield to speak altogether unnecessary. Certain combat effectiveness is maintained solely by the armies of countries in the immediate vicinity of irresponsible Russia.
I very much doubt that the heads of Western European countries do not know this circumstance when making loud statements.
 
I can see a E.U. army led by Germany. France and Italy can be the chefs of the army. The other countries can be the bankers. Each of these E.U. members will see themselves as the future leaders.

I can see the end of the old NATO and a new alliance of the UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and several EX-Soviet satellite countries. I can also see the end of the United Nations as it becomes more and more like the E.U. and tries to tell us what and who we have to allowing and just how we need to share our resources.

They are not able to cope with a handful of immigrants. How will they fight with their worldview ???
In fact, these are parasites who are currently just sitting on the neck of the United States without investing anything in their armed forces.
The only thing they want is to reduce defense spending while leaving this money in their own country. The only problem is that it does not happen.
 
@ANACONDA The E.U. army would be a German army and Germany would final realize their goal to rule Europe. Yes I can see that under the guise of a Globalist Economy. As you pointed out, the rest of the governments will abdicate their responsibilities and will gladly allow Germany to build and support this Army. All will be accomplished without firing a shot. The only real difference will be the USA will not come to Europe's rescue. The U.K will not be a part of this fiasco, so the USA will not have to get involved. By the time the rest of these idiot countries realize they have sold away their countries it will be too late and Germany will rule.

Now as for the new NATO, yes I do believe those countries will unite with the USA and I think Russia will be sweating out the new European leader, Germany. Real bad blood between those two countries.

Now my question for you is what events do you see going forward? What do you wish to see going forward?

The Germans do not even have the idea to rule Europe. All that worries them is the preservation of stability in their usual way of life. Other countries have a similar situation.
How do I see the future? Everything is more than trivial.
Western European countries instead of spending money in their obviously not combat-ready armies are much cheaper to invest this money in the armies of countries that will fight, thus creating a frontier that will separate Europe from Russia.

@ANACONDA Interesting concept but I don't see these countries pouring money into any of the buffer countries so far. I can see Germany volunteering to build and lead a E.U. army in the future. Look how fast Merkle jumped on the idea. Booming industrial complex, full employment for the German people. Aside from the U.K. what other country in Europe has real army and navy? Germany could and would become the "Enforcement" arm to the E.U. and before too long, they would become the true rulers of the E.U. I could see several of the Russian border Countries joining a New NATO could end up being a blocking mechanism against both Russia and Germany. I do not see any Russian border countries being able to stand alone against Russia.

Since I don't live in Europe. I have the luxury of sitting back and watching how things develop. I do appreciate your military updates but I would also like to know more about the people and their views.

The army and navy of Germany is nothing more than an illusion.
Exactly the same situation in the rest of Western European countries. They can carry out police missions within the EU, but they are not suitable for confronting an external enemy. Their leaders are well aware of this and will conduct any negotiations with anyone, just to avoid direct military conflict.
People??? This is the old principle. People the main thing that was ass warm. The lower the standard of living in the country, the more people are able to fight in it, because they have nothing to lose but their lives.
 
After WW1, the army and navy of Germany was crap. By 1940, it was one of the best outfitted in the world and better than any on the European continent. I don't see Germany forking over a ton of money, when they can get the European idiots to buy into a NEW bigger than ever European Military. Why would they send money to the Ukraine or Poland or any other EX-Satellite country when one of their own members is willing to shoulder this horrible burden. The E.U. has delusions of grandeur and think they can become as powerful as China, Russia or the USA but they need the U.K. to stay in the E.U. They can't allow this defection or their house of cards may come crumbling down. They need to severely punish the U.K. for daring to leave and hope to intimidate others into staying. I just don't see the E.U. dumping money into a non-member country for a military build up. I can see the European bureaucrats being stupid enough to empower Germany with the defense of the E.U.

I agree that those with nothing to lose do not worry as much about why they are fighting but they also don't have the incentive to fight to the last man either. I guaranteed I will fight a lot harder to keep invaders out of the USA than a Mexican will to stop the invaders from passing through their country to get to the USA. This just one of those what if scenarios. You may be correct and the E.U. may decide to have other countries do their fighting. Time will tell if either of us are correct.
 
Of course, Germans can make military equipment. The problem is not the equipment at war, but the people who sit in this technique. But with such people, Germany, like the rest of Western European countries, has a big problem. Europeans are not mentally ready to fight. Who will they put in this technique ?? Emigrants from the Middle East ???
 
Since I have no recent experience to judge by and only working from the past history, I am not qualified to argue your opinion of the military ability of the current German populace. I do caution that even after crushing financial reparations from the first world war and massive casualties, they were able to completely rebuild their country and military forces. They accomplished all this within approximately 30 years. Are they too afraid to fight now, I can't say but never ever underestimate a possible opponent.
 
The combat capabilities of the modern Germans are fully reflected in the situation there with immigrants. If two dozen healthy men in a panic get away from one Arab, then what kind of combat possibilities of these men can we talk about ...
Just read that the Germans are discussing with the Austrians on the profile forum.
I was banned there after the second post, for what I wrote that you need to have a weapon and a supply of ammunition.
This sound argument, from my point of view, caused such indignation among the local public that they had been discussing with each other for 4 days what an inhuman sadist I was, and on the 5th day the forum administrator deleted all this scribbling along with my banned account.

I was a mod for a different forum and quit because of their desire to censor member posts. If you were not personally attacking (calling names) then in my opinion, you should not have been censored. Many of my posts would not get me any Mr. Warm and Fuzzy nominations. I do believe you need to have firearms and stock piles of ammo. A disarmed populace is a weakened populace. I also do not trust government, mine or anybodies government. That does not mean we don't need a government but it should always be challenged and carefully watched.

I still caution about underestimating an opponent. The laws regarding how immigrants are to be treated in Germany today, could drastically change and these same males may all of a sudden decide it is time to take back their country. You may not think much of them now but Again Japan felt they could get the soft Americans to concede a war and make favorable trade deals with them. The ART OF WAR is as true today as it was when first written. Underestimating an enemy, is to concede the battle.
