Kate, you are trying to steal someone else's responsibilities. Let me explain.

2 scenarios.
1. "Bob" and "John" are robbing a store you are in with a gun. You don't have a gun, but you try to run and Bob shoots you in the back.

2. "Bob" and "John" are robbing a store I am in, Bob (with the gun) turns his back to me and I pull my CC and shoot him repeatedly killing Bob. I also shoot John twice and he survives (but he is not armed).

Scenario 1. Are you responsible for your bullet wound? Or, will a court charge you with assault? Of course not, that responsibility is not yours. Yes, you have responsibility to care for yourself and recover, but not for the shooting.

Scenario 2. Am I going to be charged with assault/murder? Nope. In fact John can face murder charges for Bob's death. I am not taking away their responsibility for their actions. They started this series of actions and they own the responsibility. I am not going to steal what they own.

It's that simple. I get it if you can't. But it seems you recognize you are at fault here. And that is ok. Not everyone can carry this heavy responsibility.

That is intellectual knowledge - facts, that in theory, I understand.

Kate, in all respect, I don't think you do 'understand'. Maybe 'in theory'. But someday when/if you do truly understand it, then you will feel genuine pain. Carrying your own responsibility is a burden and will cause pain.

TexasFreedom, I just read your Scenarios, above. While what you say is generally true it will vary greatly depending upon where you are. In some of the liberal states, not only would you be charged for shooting John, you also will most likely be sued by John and possibly Bob's family. In some (if not most) of the liberal states and communities, common sense has left town.

Jack, sadly that is true. You'll need to make sure they are not black because shooting them would be racist as well. "Hate crime" nonsense.
